The Queen of the Dark Lands

Chp. 2

Luigi, Daisy, Mario, Peach, and Bellflower were outside in the Palace's garden having a picnic. They sat together, basking in the warm sun. Bellflower reached into the basket and pulled out a bottle of sparkling apple cider. She passed it around the group, each filling their chalice up.

"Cheers, to Mario and Peach, who finally confessed their love!" Daisy announced as every one clinked their chalices on one another, then they took a sip of the drink. Peach smiled and snuggled up closer to Mario who was also smiling. They all started talking to one another, savoring this lovely, peaceful moment.

"So," Bellflower said, setting herself down next to Luigi, her brother,"What do you think?"

The green plumber let out an italian chuckle,"I see our brother finally asked Peach. I'm happy for him. And Peach," Bellflower nodded and Luigi grinned in response. Luigi started to take a sip of his drink.

"What's up with you and Daisy?" Bellflower asked. Luigi's face started to blush as he coughed up his drink.

"W-why? N-nothing!" he said blushing. Bellflower smiled and leaned closer as Luigi backed up.

"I see you two sneaking around the castle, it's fine. I'll keep it a secret as long as you want," Bellflower said, leaning back on her arms. Luigi's shoulders slumped in relief.

"Thank you, Bell," Luigi sighed.

"It's nothing. But don't you find it weird?" Bellflower asked. Luigi's eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.

"What's weird?" he asked in his thick italian accent.

"Bowser hasn't tried to do anything these past months, makes it feel like calm before the storm," she said. He scratched his chin, thinking about it.

"It is weird,"

For the rest of the gathering, it was all just fun and games. They played a few games, ate some more and chatted up alot. Nearing the end, Luigi stood up as everyone sat down.

"I just wanted to say a few words to my brother's and Peach's relationship..." Luigi said with a smile. Just as he started, Bellflower suddenly needed to go to the bathroom. She stood up and faced Luigi who stopped talking.

"I'm really sorry, I am, but I have to go to the bathroom, just keep going on without me," she said. Luigi nodded and signed for her to go. She walked into the castle and walked to the bathroom.

After using the bathroom, she walked outside, and saw fog, fog everywhere. Bellflower looked at it in confusion, but quickly realized that this wasn't fog.

It was gas.

Knockout gas.

Her eyes widened. She tried to walk through the gas but ended up coughing and feeling dizzy. If she was to inhale the gas, she would pass out too.

Who would do such a thin-?

Her eyes widened in realization.
