Chapter 22

"Alex, take your legs off my desk", I shouted as loudly as I could. I had walked into my cabin only to find Alex hogging away all my space with him and his dirty paws.

"Hey, cool down." Alex replied calmly as he moved his legs lazily off my table.

"Isn't there anywhere else you should be?" I said walking to my chair.

"My God, how does Daniel bare with you and your arrogance." Alex said as he flipped through some pages. It was a bright sunny afternoon. I had finished my lunch with Daniel and walked back to my cabin only to find Alex sitting there.

"Well, lets just say my arrogance is only for you. You just bring out the best in me darling." I said giving him a winning smile for which Alex rolled his eyes.

"Anyways, I took the liberty to print out your draft and.. "

"What!, you logged into my system without my permission and printed it out. Alex do you ever respect my privacy."

"Well, yea I did and whoa.. whoa.. I do respect your privacy." Alex replied back.

"Oh, like how may I know Sir. The other day when you met Daniel you asked him if we had slept together yet." I said folding my arms and staring angrily at Alex.

"Hey, that's typical question every guy asks the other. We men are dogs honey, we just want to sniff out the information." Alex said winking at me.

"That's disgusting." I said as I made a puking gesture at him.

"Hey, you can write about this in your next article but for now, lets discuss this one." he said as he threw the printed sheets in front of me.

"Okay, what's the experts advice?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"It sucks."

"What?"

"That's an honest feedback babes. It does. We've been in this for nearly 2 months and all I see you write is some mushy feelings. Val, people don't want to know why gifting flowers is an important aspect of a relationship or about your daily lunches or the kisses. Vall, your supposed to write about 'Why people fall in love', not an advice column. All that's there here is some thirteen year old gushing about her crush." Alex said as he pointed at the draft copy which I was picking to read.

"You know what, give it here, I'll read it for you" Alex continued as he took the papers away from me. Just when he was about to start, Stacey walked in, texting away in her mobile.

"So, what you guys upto? Don't answer that, answer this first. How was your lunch with Mr.Hottie?" Stacey gushed out as she took a place next to Alex.

"Stace.. we are in middle of work."Alex shouted as I was about to reply to her.

"What work? Isn't falling in love with Daniel part of her work. I am checking on the progress Mr I_am_the_only_one_working" Stacey replied for which I had to hold back from laughing out loud.

"Oh, you wanna know the progress. Just read this out then." Alex said as he placed my draft on Stacey's lap now. She raised her eyes questioning me if I was okay with her reading it. I nodded my head in agreement but glared at Alex.

"Stace, do read it. Mr.I_am_the_only_one_working thinks I write like a thirteen year old gushing about her crush. Do tell him after you read it that I don't." I replied not taking my eyes off Alex. No one, I mean no one tells my writing is kiddish.

"Okay, sure." Stacey said while Alex and I continued our glaring contest.

"Read it aloud." Alex shouted.
