The elevator door opened, I saw Stacey correcting her lipstick. Who can you blame, girls are always girls, I thought.

"Oops, didn't notice the door", she said glancing all around me, and I realised getting caught doing messy things by friends is better than a whole bunch of people whom you don't even know.

If I wasn't nervous I would have laughed at her, but now wasn't the time. Sensing the difference in my mood Stacey walked out, asking me if I was fine.

I didn't answer, just ran into the empty elevator and waved at her as the elevator door closed. The confused look on Stacey's face made me giggle. But it died out soon, because of my nerves.

I got out of the elevator and made my way to the receptionist.

"Hey, I am Vallerie Walter and I've been told to meet the chief editor", I said nervously.

"Hey, so even your called", she asked smiling.

What does she mean by even your called, I wondered but nodded my head.

"Okay, follow me", she said standing up from her seat. Once she was close, she extended her hand introducing herself as jane. I shook her hand and followed her to wherever she took me.

Wasn't I surprised, this whole freaking floor belonged to only the chief editor, who was also our CEO. I was shocked to the core. I couldn't believe that this floor belonged to the same company I worked for. That's cause it was totally different from the other floors that had white marble floor, and sad but elegant brown wood work. Not that I am complaining. But this floor was a total masterpiece filled with only two dominant colors white and black. The floor was of white marble with  huge black marble stone occupying the middle of the room. The walls were painted alternative black and white and everything on the floor had furniture that were a mixture of black and white. The walls had different paintings that I never knew existed till then. And every cabin had glass walls, making it possible to see what was inside. Once we reached the far end of the floor, Jane stopped. I was too busy gawking at the paintings that I bumped into Jane. She stumbled forward  but before she could fall, she straightened herself. Jane turned around and stared at me angrily.

"Sorry"

"Yea, you better be, this is the umpteenth time I am bringing people in here", she said through her teeth. I didn't know what to say to that but simple stared at her.

Jane pointed her finger to the sofa that sat towards my right. It was a black wood one, with white cushions. I was busy checking out the floor that I didn't notice the red haired girl who looked as nervous as me. I gave her a small smile, and walked to sit next to her.

"Just sit there and she'll call you in, and oh, don't bump into anything or anyone", she said pointing her thumb inwards. I thought she was referring to herself but when she moved, I noticed huge doors. They were black in colour with a golden handles. And this room was not glass walled.

The red haired girl was fidgeting with the hem of her skirt. Just then I noticed my dress. I had worn a blue shirt and black pencil skirt that looked elegant but still when your meeting your CEO you'd expect to wear even more elegant dress.

Neither of us wanted to talk, and the silence was killing me. Just then the door opened and Cecilia Hamilton stepped out. She pointed her black painted nails at the red haired girl and pointed inside. When she looked at me she simply smirked. I seriously wanted to slap her then and there.

No, Cecilia Hamilton is not my CEO but my colleague. She was in the section involved in giving style quotes. Anything new or fashionable happening she was supposed to write about them. Investors who wanted reviews about their products like bags, clothes, shoes, perfumes etc to be printed in the Angels always sent her free stuff. It was like bribing the writer to give positive reviews. And Stacey and me hated her to the core whenever she flaunted her new accessories. She said that she purchased them but the truth was they were all bribe gifts. If this was not enough she also got a new assignment that got published in last weeks issue. Seemed like luck keeps favouring those who already had it in plenty. Her assignment was "How to become a popular girl in school". The only reason she got that assignment was because she claimed she was the head cheer leader and head cheer leaders are always popular she said.
