The Coming Storm

You leaned against the wall as the Queen readied herself to address her citizens. It was finally time to start with the evacuation. Everyone was already at work at setting the Hasselhoff into position while the Guardians headed off into space to see if they could find any sign of Galactus. Adam stayed on the planet with you while the other Ultra Form heroes were on stand by.

You ended up watching as the Queen began her address. You didn't care too much to listen. You knew your part of this plan. Everyone did. All you had to do was fight Galactus while the others fought the Hearlds and everyone else worried about the evacuation.

Molly: Y/N?

You stopped and turned around to see Molly approaching you.

Y/N: What's up?

Molly: Nothing. I was about to head over to the docks to help with the evacuation. Were you going to meet up with the others?

You nodded.

Y/N: We're going to wait in the city center. When they attack, we're gonna be ready.

Molly clenched her fists.

Molly: Right! You better make sure Sam doesn't over do it.

You rolled your eyes.

Y/N: I'll do my best. You should worry about your job.

Molly: I will. Uh, stay safe. Please?

You nodded but she suddenly hugged you. You smiled as you hugged her back.

Y/N: I will. Love you.

Molly: Love you to.

You both parted ways and Molly started down the hall. You went the opposite way and began your track through the palace so you could leave. You made your way through the city as it's citizens listened to their Queen. You ignited your feet and blasted over the waterways before you found the city center. It was a round plaza like platform that, like the rest of the city, rested on the water. You spotted a small group of figures in the center as you flew down.

Y/N: Is everything ready?

Robbie: As ready as we can be. I heard the Queen's address.

Sam: Guess this is really it. Man. I remembered when we were fighting against Doom back in Tokyo. I thought that was going to be the hardest fight in my entire life.

Danny: Our greatest battles are the ones that prove our worth. If this is what it takes, then so be it.

Adam: Well said.

Y/N: Yeah. I still think I prefer Doom though.

You, Danny, and Sam all nodded in agreement while Robbie and Adam were a bit confused. Oh yeah. They don't know who that was.

Y/N: So, we're just waiting for now. Uh, in case things get too crazy or something happens, does anyone have anything they want to say?

Everyone looked at each other for a moment in silence. Finally, Sam raised his hand.

Y/N: Sam?

Sam: Uh, yeah. I, uh, just wanted to say thank you. I wish everyone was here for this but, this will have to do for now. Uh, shit.

He rubbed the back of his neck as he blew some air through his lips.

Sam: Ok. Uh, I just wanted to say thank you because, well, you guys really mean a lot to me. Before the Program, I never had any real friends. I was a loner. A dork with no friends and I never knew my dad. I'm even estranged from my mom at this point. You guys, you guys are my family. I wouldn't trade you all for the world. I'm, absolutely honored to be fighting along you guys. I just want you all to know that I'm going to give this my all.

His voice began to crack near the end of his speech. You placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled. Danny then stepped forward.

Danny: I understand what you mean. Before I met you all, I only had the Defenders. After my parents died when I was boy, they took me in and showed me what it meant to be a hero. After I joined the Program, I learned what it meant to be human. You guys have given me the best moments of my life. The strength I unlocked from within came from the urge to save Cindy. I got this power because I was worthy. I never felt that way until I met you all. Now, I'm honored to stand by you all.

You nodded at his declaration.

Robbie: Well, I guess it's my turn. How do I even start this? Uh, ok. Look. You guys know I'm not to be so damn open about my emotions but, you guys really are all I got. Gabe was the last of my family and I lost him. I was weak and scared of my power. And, on my conquest to get revenge, I met the strangest group of people I have ever met before in my life. Freaks. Just like me. Uh, I didn't even think they would ever become my family. All of them. The Strikers became something I wanted to protect because I, loved them. Even after we disbanded and I joined the Avengers, I never wanted to lose any of you. Uh, I can't lose you guys. I just, can't. So, just like all of you, I'm giving this all I got. None of you better slack off or I'll kick your ass.

You all laughed a bit as you lokked over to Adam.

Y/N: Anything you want to add?

Adam: I do not. I am here to protect my Master.

Danny: Are you ever going to exolain that or...

Y/N: I still don't know man.

Everyone then looked to you. Looks like it was your turn.

Y/N: Right. Well, I guess you guys said it all. You guys are my family. I love you all. I mean, I never had that. I came from nothing. I had no one besides the Old Man and I lost him. When I was taking in by the Program, I was so lost. I was worried about what the others thought about me. I focused so hard on becoming stronger to save others. I've been though so many fights, struggles, and just complete bullshit. Hell, I died. I died and came back to life for some reason. Even through all of that, you guys are here. Risking your lives to help me in this journey of mine. I can't begin to express my gratitude. Even after everything, you guys are here. If that's not family, I don't know what is.

The five of you all looked at each other before you reached your hand out. The others slowly placed theirs above yours as you sighed.

Y/N: Let's fucking do this.

All: Yeah!

Peter: Hello?!

Your head popped up at the sudden radio.

Y/N: Peter?

Peter: Yeah, uh, I think we found him.

Robbie: You did? Where?

Gamora: Just look up.

You all looked at each other before looking up. Sure enough, two large purple orbs, about the size of the sun, appeared in the sky above. From the same sky, the Hearlds flew down towards you all.

Y/N: Hmm. Thank god I brought that back up.

Shift was immediately struck down by a bolt of lightning as Thor flew into action. Hulk wasn't too far behind him.

Robbie: See, why didn't we bring them along the first time?

Y/N: I, uh, kinda forgot.

Everyone shook their heads as they all transformed save for you and Sam. Sam took a deep breath before placing his helmet on.

Y/N: Don't go too crazy.

Sam: Molly?

Y/N: Molly.

Sam smirked as his body powered up to his Ultra Form. And without any further delay, everyone blasted up while you pulled down your sword.

Y/N: It has been a while since I've used this. Let's see if I still can.

You held it up and grinned.

Y/N: Bring it on.
