{Felicity's POV (unedited)}
I stirred and awoke as soon as the sun's rays had hit my face, through the silver bars of the window.
My mind began racing with thoughts, as I laid on the cold, grey floor, not letting my back touch the floor because I was punished for my disobedience yesterday.
My back was raw, and the flow of the blood had slowed down since Marc had treated it with the help of the old lady, the lady who never gave her name to any, fearing her life as it depended on her name, and that's what she kept saying.
I whimpered in pain as Marc had applied the cold, medicine on my back again, until he wrapped the wounds in a cloth. I looked back to find his hands still chained in silver and wolfsbane, as he was trying to finish up cleaning the wounds, mustering all the energy he had.
That made me remember, I wasn't the only one suffering.
As soon as he was finished, he sat his back upon the wall in sighed, as I slowly crept to him in his arms, hugging him and sobbing, as tears flowed down my face.
"I heard that there is going to be an attack on this pack soon, well that's what they said when I went for my chores downstairs." he whispered in pain, but with confidence, as he felt that it was a chance for escape.
"I do not know anymore, Marc, this pain that I am in, is endless, it is stopping!" I screamed but came as a whisper as I spoke.
He hugged me back, giving me a warmth that I known to trust, and feeling of a family.
I continued wailing away my tears as the pain grew more intense. Suddenly, the warmth of a family, and genuineness had gone, and now I could feel the coldness from his stoic behavior.
My hope of him being by my side had suddenly dropped, and I thought he had hated me too, as I had shown many signs of weakness and cried like a little girl, at the loss of her hopes and dreams she once had.
I looked up at his face to meet his eyes, just to know if my expectations were true. But his face was no where in my direction, but was straight ahead, that means he was looking at those silver bars that had caged us as slaves.
I looked back slowly, to find that same man who had complained about my behavior to the Alpha and had received my punishments yesterday. The same man who had thrashed me around the place, since I looked like the same rogue that had killed his family.
I immediately kept my head back in Marc's chest, hugging him tighter as I didn't want to be taken away from my family again. Hell, I don't even know if I will make it back here just to see his face again.
I cried as I knew that my training that I had received from Marc when they let us free for our chores, could not be used here. If I did, I would get punished again, which would make the pain I am suffering even worse.
I waited to get pulled away from him. And I waited. But I never got pulled away.
I looked back, and found that man standing there giving the same vibes as Marc had given. Hatred was shown clearly on Marc's face, as the glare on the man's face started to soften.
Finally, Marc cut the silence that grew from the past few minutes.
"What's your name?"
I was shocked by his question, as Marc had never bothered to ask anyone such a question, especially from the one who had tortured us the most.
"Chad. Chad Williams." He replied, as he lost the confidence as Marc gained control of the situation.
"Very well then. I, Marc Crimson, re-"
"Stop! he screamed. "Don't do this, please." he ended with a whisper as it was almost inaudible to hear.
The man, fell on his knees with tears flowing from his face, as he crumpled and put his hands on the ground. I stared as confusion crept my face. This man, who had a perfect life, with his perfect girlfriend, the one who tried to help me, the one who had killed thousands of wolves mercilessly, just to avenge for his family, was here crying on his knees.
But this helped Marc's stoic behavior, to have sadistic grin on his face, and continued.
"Why should I?" He asked in a challenging manner.
I prayed to the Moon Goddess, praying that he wouldn't get punished for his behavior.
"Why should I listen to you? Think about this. Have you ever listened to those, who had plead with you to let them live their lives? Or, the fact that, you had already killed those rogues who killed your family, but continued killing those innocent wolves, painfully approaching their deaths?"
His tears fell as he clasped his hands together, begging him to stop, as his wolf howled out in pain.
"Have you ever thought about those innocent lives and family that you killed? Hell, you could have even killed those small innocent children!" He stopped to catch his breath and continued.
"If you can't forgive, nor can I. And I know, you would never even if your own mate or blood would have asked you to. You would continue, until the blood on your hands kept flooding. And that gives me another reason, to reject you as my mate."
The lady and I gasped in shock, as we shook in terror, and then it struck me.
Today was Marc's birthday. It has been almost been a year.
He found no response from his mate, but only found him breathing, taking sharp breaths, awaiting the rejection to take place.
"I, Marc Crimson, reject you as my mate, and ask for forgiveness, from the Moon Goddess for rejecting her long awaited gift for me."
He stopped abruptly, waiting for his mate to accept his rejection, to break the bond.
"I, Chad Williams, accept your rejection and as my-" and he ended with a gasp.
I had closed my eyes, to open them and find a sharp silver object piercing through his stomach, behind those silver bars. A ear piercing scream was heard shortly after, as the silver object was retrieved.
Blood dripped from his stomach, and we watched his lifeless body fall onto the floor, to find a hooded man, slightly shorter than Chad, appear with a silver knife, as the crimson cloured liquid fell onto the floor.
Our mouths fell open, as the our eyes grew wide, watching the murder unfold in front of us.
I looked at Marc for a second, who looked equally shocked as I did, but with no remorse, nor pain since the bond was broken already.
I looked back at the man, who stepped out from the shadows, with a grin on his face, as he spoke,
"I've finally found you."
