{Asher's POV (Unedited)}

My hand trailed around her hand, as her soft brown eyes stared right into my blue eyes.

She's so perfect.

Just a week more, and she will be mine.

Could be mine. I sighed, looking around drastically.

What if she isn't mine? This is what worried me.

She tried calming me down, but my mind kept blurring with these thoughts. I can't lose her to another wolf, not until they burn my dead body!

Her hands-on top of mine, as she rubbed her hand on mine. I looked back in her eyes in disappointment in myself.

"Hey, don't worry. Everything that happens is for the best." She said in her most calming tone that I had grown to love.

Two years since my birthday, I had never found my mate. I didn't think too much about it, since I would have her as my mate.

I would wait a million years, if I someone told me that she is my mate.

Time had got me counting, as I looked back at each second that passed by me. A week more.

The problem is that, my wolf despises her. And that gets me worried even more.

Since I am now an Alpha, my wolf could easily tell who his mate could be even if she isn't eighteen.

I can't loose someone like her to some other damn wolf, it make my mind blow up in anger as my blood boils, making me see the colors of red.

I just can't. She's just perfect.

And I've fallen deeper every day, every moment I've seen her. I can't help it.

If she isn't... I don't know what I could do anymore. The whole pack knows we are meant for each other, because every time we are together.... it brings me my real happiness from within.

If we aren't... we have prepared to reject our real mates. This makes my wolf howl out in anger and shut his connection with me.

I haven't met her yet, and I know I would hate her in spite of our bond. She's already breaking my connection with my wolf, making him depise someone I love.

She's going to be a huge mess in the pack, if she isn't Mikayla. And I wouldn't wish it wasn't someone else.

"I.. need to say this Mikayla." I said, without taking another break. I got up from where I sat, and stood in front of her, having her eyes tracing my movement suspiciously.

So cute.

"Mikayla...." I said, as her eye brows scrunched up together, which meant she was worried.

"Oh no, there is anything to be worried about.." I said as my hand caressed her cheek softly.

"Ash... stop lying to me, I know something is up. Is it about the mate thing again?" She asked me.

I couldn't lie to her, so I just told her about my thoughts, as I leaned into her embrace, feeling the tears trailing down my face, getting wiped away by her hands.

"Asher.. I told you. Everything happens for the best. Even if we aren't mates-"

"No! Stop!" I said, as my voice raised higher than I meant it to be.

"We are mates! You can't leave me! How could you even say that, Mi-Mikayla?" I said, as my voice started cracking.

She can't cut things off with me. She couldn't. I know she loves me, so how could she?
