For this months issue, I’m gonna help you cosplay as…. Aomine Daiki!
Yup. You heard right.
So, Cosplaying as Aomine doesn’t mean just dressing like him, you’ve gotta be him. But we’ll get to that later. So first question, How are you gonna be able to improvise the Touou jersey? Hmph, I got this. First of all, since you’re not going to actually be playing basketball the material of your jersey doesn’t have to be the actual material used. Instead, you can use a sleeveless plain black V-neck.
Now, with your black V-neck, let’s say you can’t find a sleeveless one, just cut off the sleeves. Now you’ll need some dark red or maroon fabric. For the fabric a handkerchief would work, just find one with the proper color then cut off some strips. You’ll need about 8-10 strips.
Stitch one strip around the hem of the collar, the stitch one strip around the hem of the sleeves or where you cut the sleeves off –one strip per sleeve. Now you’ll need a ruler for this part, stitch one strip that connects the collar to the sleeve, the line has to be slanted, then do the same for the other side, this detail is only for the front, the back doesn’t have this detail to it.
Now for the finishing details, as you notice the actual Touou jersey has their name written in kanji, not in English like the others. But that’s okay, this problem isn’t much, you’ll just need to red fabric marker –the same color as the strips if possible. Then just open up a picture of the jersey and do your best to write yourself in the middle of the jersey (the chest area). And then in white fabric marker just write ‘Gakuen’ in all capital letters right below the school name.
Now, below all of that, in the middle again (the stomach area this time) you can either use the remaining strips to form the number 5, or, use your red fabric marker again and just write it. Just do the same for the backside, slightly higher in position though.
Now, for the bottoms. Loose black shorts would do, as long as they have no designs and if they reach your knee. Around the waistline stitch one of your remaining strips, and also stitch one around the bottom hem (The umm, leg holes?) one for each leg.
Now that the outfit is done, time for the looks.
As we all know, Aomine had dark blue hair that’s really short, now a wig would do, if it’s not exactly like his hair you can just cut it to the way it looks. Aomines skin is darker than the others, so a tan would do or just keep your natural skin color. Aomine has squinty eyes, so all you have to do is just squint the entire time. REMEMBER! You need to always have this arrogant and cocky look on your face at all times, and don’t forget to smirk.
