Fangirl Mania

Well hello there, fellow KnB lovers. It's me, Talia (black-talia-rose), back again for another fangirl mania! And now I'm expecting some cheers from a nonexistent crowd...I guess it's not too much of a surprise that, instead, my dog started whining (that may have been my awful singing :P) and my cat decided to trail dirty paw prints over my chair.

So, who else thinks that Murasakibara Atsushi is the most adorable of the Generation of Miracles? Well, actually, thinking of Kuroko, neither do I. Kuroko is much cuter. And if I try to argue my point regarding Murasakibara, I'll have a load of angry fangirls (who love various members of the GoM) after me. So, in order to preserve my dignity (and my life), I think I'll just stick with the safer: "It is my opinion that Murasakibara Atsushi is a very cute character in Kuroko no Basuke".

Unlike other KnB characters, Murasakibara caught my attention from the very start. He was just an extraordinarily unique person and I wasn't entirely sure whether or not I even liked him. I was somewhere in the middle. But as I slowly went through the series, he became more loveable, in my opinion.

Murasakibara vaguely reminds me of a child. Now, I generally say that I don't like children, but that's evidently not true. I have some sort of maternal instinct that makes me want to take care of helpless children. And Murasakibara is pretty much a helpless child at times, and it just tugs on my heartstrings. Not that he has any right to act the way he does. He is perfectly capable of doing things by himself. He's just a master of manipulation, making you think he's a spoiled brat who doesn't like basketball until, bam, he goes into the Zone.

Now, Murasakibara's denial of his love for basketball constantly interested me. He seemed to think that, despite his desire for victory, he hated the sport. Before he actually entered the Zone, I found that extraordinarily strange. Why didn't he just quit? But, upon learning that he actually did love basketball, everything immediately became clear to me and I quickly formulated my opinion on why Murasakibara Atsushi claimed so vehemently that he disliked basketball.

Murasakibara is lazy, am I correct? His whole being seems to be based around food and not caring about anything, or anyone, else. This would include, of course, basketball. Perhaps Murasakibara thought of caring for things as a weakness. Perhaps he didn't want people to think that he had any weaknesses. But, as a result of his mindset, he denied his love for basketball throughout many years of his life. That's unhealthy, guys. This denial could have easily brought on his childish emotions. Because, seriously, Murasakibara's emotional state is that of a child. And before I try to figure out Murasakibara's state of mind, I'll go back to fangirling.

Okay, who else fangirled loads when Murasakibara tied his hair up for the Seirin match? His looks were immensely improved in my opinion. It prevented that ugly greasy impression that he had when his hair was down. Ignoring the fact that he looked like a girl at one point in the opening of the anime, I think that Murasakibara is actually kind of cool. He's so tall. And I just want my own one. I want my own Murasakibara.

Finally, Murasakibara reminds me of a cat. Okay, I admit that I have some sort of cat-like comparison to put with every one of the Generation of Miracles, but Murasakibara reminds me of a cat the most. Bear with me.

You know the way Murasakibara puts his hand in people's faces and announces that he's going to crush them? That is really like a cat. Seriously. Cats do that too. They lift up their paws as if they can threaten you, and it's really funny because they're too cute to possibly make you feel scared. It's the same with Murasakibara.

Murasakibara also whines when he wants food. Which cats also do. Anyone who has a cat will know this, because they make a terrible racket when they're hungry. Mine goes as far as sounding like he's being strangled. It's slightly worrying at times, but also very effective. Much like Murasakibara's whining.

As well as all of the above, cats are really picky with their food and, as far as I've watched and read of the series, I've only ever seen Murasakibara eating sweets. He's going to get cavities one day. But he only eats the one type of food. Much like my cat. He refuses to go anywhere near rice. Unless, of course, he believes that he's being given less food than the dog. Then he'll eat it right up. For jealousy. And I'm sure that Murasakibara can get jealous.

So, yes, for most of my fangirling, I compared Murasakibara to a cat. I'm destined to become an old cat lady, it seems. But Murasakibara would make a great cat.

However, if he had to stay as a person (sigh), I'd want him to be my little brother. Then I'd be able to dote on him and slap him whenever I get like it. Hmm...yeah...he'd make a great little brother.

Until next time, folks! Talia's out!
