"Bakit ka umiiyak, Athena?"

Narinig niyang tanong ng kapatid. Nakaupo pa rin siya sa couch ng living room nila sa Condo. Humahagulgol ng iyak.

Naramdaman niyang hinawakan ng kapatid ang balikat niya. Napatingala siya. Mula sa kunot na noo nito, she saw how his brother's face turned into a soft-worried stance. Just like her father, Siegfried doesn't want to see her cry all the more being hurt.

Napatingin ito sa phone niya na nasa mesa when his brother caught something in the notification message. Napakunot noo itong muli at dinampot ang phone niya at saka binasa ang mensahe.

"Hindi dito natatapos ang lahat, Athena. Hindi."

"That bastard!"

Binigay ni Siegfried ang phone sa kanya.

"Block and delete his number, Athena. Now!"

Bigla nitong sabi sa galit na boses. Kinuha niya ang phone and did what his brother told her.

Umupo ito sa tabi niya, at bigla siyang kinabig payakap. Bigla siyang nakaramdam ng panghihina, feeling niya she's a burden now to her entire family. She hugged her brother back and pour every fear she's feeling now with how things are turning out in her life.

Nagulat siya ng biglang sumigaw ang kapatid.

"FUCK! The bastard marked you???!!!"

Napatingin siya sa braso na hawak hawak nito. And there, she saw na nagpasa na yong isang braso niya dahil sa higpit na paghawak ni Reynald kanina.

"He, he..."

"FUCK HIM!"

Bigla itong tumayo at kinuha ang cellphone sa bulsa ng pantalon nito at may tinawagang tao.

"WHAT THE FUCK DID I TELL YOU? I SAID, DON'T LET THAT BASTARD TOUCH MY SISTER KAHIT HIBLA NG BUHOK?!!!!"

Napangiwi siya sa nakikita at narinig niyang galit mula sa kapatid. She knows si Choy ang kausap nito sa cellphone. Hindi na nito hinintay ang sagot sa kabilang linya. He dropped the call.

"Siege..."

"WHAT?!"

Sigaw nito. Bigla siyang napa-igtad.

"Please, don't shout, Siege."

Pakiusap niya sa kapatid. His brother's face soften.

"I am sorry."

Bigla itong tumalikod sa kanya at tumungo sa kitchen nila. May isang sulok doon na may Medicine Cabinet, kumuha ito ng instant cold pack. Bumalik sa inuupoan niya and seat beside her. He gently put the ice pack on her arm.

"Thank you, Siege."

"Compose yourself, Athena. Uuwi na tayo. Daddy called awhile ago, hindi ka daw sumasagot. Pinapauwi tayo at may pag-uusapan daw. If you have longer sleeve here, go change. Ayaw mong ipakita yan kay Daddy, Athena. I won't tell Daddy about what he did. I'll talk to Choy, sa baba na kita hihintayin."

At tumalikod na ito sa kanya. She took a deep sigh and stood up and went to her room to change her top. After 20 minutes, she's on her way down.

Nakita niya ang kapatid na nakasandal sa kotse niya.

"Here, your car key. You drive. I'll follow you."

"Okay."

The drive home is an eerie journey. It's the first time that she felt so anxious to go home. After what had happened awhile ago and receiving a threatening text from Reynald. She just wanted to disappear. Nakadagdag pa sa pag-iisip ang sinabi ni Siegfried na may pag-uusapan sila ng Daddy nila. She could only hope for that things will get better the soonest possible time.
