Chapter 19: Third Time's A Charm

He's sitting in front of the Enchantress at the lunch table. Beside him is Tita Maine, nasa kabisera si Tito RJ, sa harapan—to the right is Siegfried and then Athena. It's the third time that he is seeing this beautiful face up close. It's distracting and he's making an extra effort not to glance longer at the Enchantress because he might not be able to pull away his gaze at the lovely face in front of him.

"You'll be leaving later tonight, JD?"

"Yes, Tito..."

"Siegfried, make sure JD gets to the airport safe, okay?"

"Yes, Dad. We will have a few more hours to spare. We'll probably just roam around in the mall, near NAIA..."

"Can I join, please?"

"Aren't you going to rest, Athena? Maaga ka bukas di ba?"

"Yes, but I could spare a few hours at the mall...Daddy, please..."

"Payagan mo na, andyan naman si Siegfried at JD, saka yung security details."

"Bring 4..."

"4 bodyguards?"

"Yes, Athena, or you stay here..."

"Okay, Siege sama ako ha..."

"Ano ba gagawin mo sa mall?"

"May bibilhin ako, saka, I kinda miss roaming around, sige na please..."

"Ano, bro? Sama ba natin?"

He was listening to the family banters and couldn't help to thank heavens for little mercies—like the Enchantress joining them after lunch? Ahhh, they said the third time's a charm, and he guess it's working.

4 pairs of eyes were looking at him waiting for his response. Both the patriarch and the matriarch were amused, the brother were in a mood to tease him and the Enchantress? Well, kahit sa naiinip na mukha, he still find her sooo pretty.

"Ahmmm, yes of course, no problem with me."

"I thought so..." Siegfried teases him more.

"Yes!"

"Finish your food children, me and your mom will go get some tea in my study, I have something to discuss with her...so, excuse us. Let's go, love..."

"Please knock if aalis na kayo ha."

"Yes Mom..."

"Aren't you tired with your tea/coffee date, Mom, Dad?"

"Never, Athena. Never."

"Can we watch movie?"

"Movie? We have it in this house, love, bakit doon pa sa mall?"

"Na miss ko lang."

"Kinulong ka ba ng matagal para ma miss mo mga bagay na yan?"

"Siege, come on, you know what's happening these past months."

"We will see, pag di gahol sa oras..."

"Okay, basta sama ako ha. I am done, ligo lang ako. Thanks, Siege! Thanks, JD!"

The Enchantress hurriedly exits from the dining.

"Bro, pakitikom ng bibig, pasalamat ka walang langaw dito! Hahahaha"

Hindi siya makasagot, because for the nth time, Siegfried caught him being enchanted with the Enchantress like a teenage boy. Damn, Jay Daniel! umayos ka! He silently castigates himself.
