New Beginnings

In class, Scarlett is in her desk when she notices Axel walk in
Scarlett: I like what you did back there
Axel looked up in confusion
Scarlett: It was stupid.. but it was great
Scarlett: But you should probably go to the nurse, you could be hurt
Scarlett smiles at him
Scarlett: What's your name?
Axel: You don't know my name?
Scarlett: Of course I know your name, I just wanna see if you know your name
Axel: It's Axel
**Scarlett waits for him to say his last name**
Axel: Axel Knight
Scarlett: *laughing* okay.. okay good
Scarlett: You should still go to the nurse tho
Axel: You're Scarlett right ?
Scarlett: Scarlett Ross, but you can call me Sky
Axel: Of course
Scarlett: Yeah
We both smile, then before we know it class is over, hours pass and then school is over
**Back at home**
Carol: Hey sweetie, how was school?
Scarlett: It was good mom
Carol: That's nice
Scarlett: Yeah
Carol: Anything interesting happen?
Scarlett: Not really mom
**John walks in the house, exhausted from work**
Carol: How was work today honey?
John: Exhausting as always, but someone has to protect this family
Carol: And I'm glad that you are, that way we're always safe
Carol: Sky, go get your sister, I'm about to serve dinner
Scarlett: Yes mom
I go upstairs and knock on her door
Scarlett: Hey Aria, dinner's ready, come downstairs please
Aria: I'll be right there
Scarlett: Hurry before dinner gets cold
Aria opens the door
Aria: I'm coming!
Scarlett starts smiling
Aria: Oh gosh I don't like that smile
Scarlett: Race you downstairs!
I run off and I hear Aria calling behind me
Aria: Hey, you cheated!
Scarlett: No, you're just a loser
She laughed
**Mom and Dad look at each other**
John: *face palm* When will these kids ever grow?
Aria and I laugh it off, then we wait for mom to serve dinner
**At dinner**
Dad: So how was everyone's day?
Scarlett: Pretty good, I'm on the right road for Oxford in a few months
Aria frowns and I look at her with a sad look on my face because I know me leaving will affect her
Aria: Y..you're still doing that?
I suddenly saw how upset that made her feel, and she looked down wanting to avoid eye contact with me
Mom and Dad looked at each other across the table
She then got up from the table to go to her room
Aria: I'm not hungry anymore
Dad: Oh come on, it's her choice
She storms out of the dining room and walks upstairs to her room
I later went to check on her and could hear she was crying
She didn't want me to leave because she didn't want to be left alone since we only had each other as siblings
My sister and I made so many good memories together growing up, I think that's what affected her
Mom and Dad of course were gonna be upset too, but my sister was gonna be affected the most
I knock on her door
Scarlett: Aria, it's Scarlett, open up we need to talk
She didn't approach the door or say anything at all, she was probably waiting for me to go away
Scarlett: If you're waiting for me to go away it's not gonna happen anytime soon so if you don't open up now I'll just keep on knocking until you do
I heard footsteps and then she finally opened the door
Scarlett: Listen, I know you don't want me to go to England, but I promise you everything will be okay, we will always keep in touch and I'll come visit every chance I get
Aria: There has to be another way, you can go to a college that's closer
Scarlett: It's not the same Aria.. you know my dream college has always been Oxford ever since I was younger, plus I get better chances and I can give you and my parents a better life.. don't you want that for our family?
She then wiped her tears away and looked out her window
Scarlett: You'll come through, just remember I'm your older sister.. it's my job to give you and my family a better life, but it's not like I'm leaving forever, I'll always come back every chance I get to visit you and our parents
Aria turned away from the window and looked at me
Aria: Promise?
I looked at her and smiled
Scarlett: Promise
I then gave her a big hug
Even though my sister can be annoying sometimes, it was nice too know she cared about me and wanted me to stay
I really did have the best sister ever
