Awkward Dinner

Days after Uncle Chad died, I decide to take a walk outside and clear my head, and I suddenly come across a man trying to assault a woman from the street
Axel: Hey man, don't you know men aren't supposed to hurt women
Man: You're in the wrong place buddy, I suggest you go back to where you came from
Axel: I'm not gonna just leave after seeing what you're doing
The man then pulls a gun out at me, I pretend I am turning around to leave but I then run over to him and tackle him on the floor, take his gun and throw it
His gang must've heard all the commotion because they all came out to help him, but I ended up dodging their hits and taking them down
Once I realized I was outnumbered I ended up running and jumping onto a building until I got to the roof
Eventually though, the gang caught up to me and I kept running but didn't realize that there was a loose spot and when I stepped on it trying to run I fell through
One of the men yelled "I know what you look like!" from the top
As I was trying to figure out where I was, I looked up to see a picture of a black wasp drawn on the ceiling.. and in that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be
After that, once again it was time for school
Scarlett sees Axel walk in and walks toward him
Axel: Hey
Scarlett: Hi
Axel: How's it going?
Scarlett: Pretty good, where are you headed
Axel: Monday, science
Scarlett: Oh it's Thursday
Axel: It's Thursday?
Scarlett sees a rash by his eye from the fight he had with the men
Scarlett: What happened to your eye?
Axel: What?
Scarlett: Your eye it looks bruised
Axel: Oh yeah it's uhh, it's just a rash
Scarlett: It's pretty bad have you gone to the nurse?
Axel nods his head yes
Scarlett: Do you like branzino?
Axel looks confused and Scarlett notices
Scarlett: Like a fish?
Axel: Oh yeah mhm I know, I know
Scarlett: Well if you want you can come to this address at um, seven o clock tonight
I hand him my address
Scarlett: My mom's making branzino
Axel looks at the paper, then at her
Scarlett: Oh it's an apartment, twenty seventeen, I don't know why I didn't write that part down
I then laugh nervously
Axel: I'll remember
I then turn around and remind him again
Scarlett: Twenty seventeen
I then proceed to my class and wait for school to end
Finally school is over and before I know it, it's already seven o clock
I then hear a knock on my window, I look up to see Axel there
I smile at him and go open it
Scarlett: Hi
Axel smiles at me awkwardly
Scarlett: How did you get up there?
Axel: The fire escape
Scarlett: It's twenty stories
Axel: Your doorman's intimidating
Axel looks at me as he makes his way into my room
Axel: So this is your room
Scarlett: Yes this is my room
We then look at each other and laugh
Axel, still in his school clothes with his backpack, suddenly remembers something
Axel: Oh hey uh, I got your mom these
Axel pulls out a bunch of damaged flowers and looks embarrassed
Scarlett: *joking* oh wow.. lovely
Axel jokes as well to avoid an awkward situation
Axel: They're beautiful right
Scarlett: Yes they're beautiful
Axel smiles awkwardly
Axel: Well they were.. they were nice
Scarlett: *still joking* no they're beautiful
Axel: I'm sorry
Scarlett: No it's impressive, they actually hold together very well
Axel: I'm gonna keep these
I laugh as he said that
Scarlett: Do you have your suit in there?
Axel looks at me, confused
Axel: My suit?
Scarlett: Yeah for dinner? Are you gonna wear that?
Suddenly my dad walks in the room
John: Hey hun
Axel and I both turn to look at him
My dad then looks at Axel
John: You must be Axel
Scarlett: Dad this is Axel
Axel and I both look at each other, and he then approaches my dad
Axel: Hey, nice to meet you sir
Axel and John both shake hands
John: Nice to meet you
Axel smiles at him
John: Dinner's ready, hope you like branzino
Axel: *joking* who doesn't?
**at the dinner table**
As my mom, dad, Aria and I are at the table, my mom sees that Axel is struggling with his fish
Carol: You having trouble there aren't you, the head goes on the other- Aria, help Sky's friend with his fish
Aria then gets up and goes help him
Axel: *laughs awkwardly* oh I.. I had no idea
Aria: *laughing* first time
Axel then looks up at me
Scarlett: *joking whispering voice* branzino
Carol: John, why don't you tell us about your day
Aria: Oh yeah dad did you catch that black wasp guy yet?
Axel then makes a shocking face
John: No, we didn't catch him yet but we will, he's an amateur, who's assaulting civilians in the dead of night, he's clumsy he leaves clues, but still dangerous
Axel: He's assaulting people? I'm not sure I mean I saw that video of him and the car thief the other day and well I think that most people would say that he was.. providing public service
John: Most people would be wrong, If I wanted the car thief off the street, he'd already be off the street
Axel: So why wasn't he then?
I then laugh nervously
John: Let me fill you in see, the car thief was leading us to the people who run the entire operation, it was a six month process with a lot of strategy I'm sure you've heard of the term strategy you probably heard about it in school
Axel nods
I then look at my mom and we were both thinking the same thing, but she pointed at my plate, trying to tell me to finish my dinner
There's then a brief silence in the room before Axel speaks up again
Axel: Well obviously he didn't know you had a plan
John: You seem to know a lot about this case do you know something that we don't know I mean who's side are you on here?
Axel: I'm not on anyone's side, I saw a video on the internet
John then looks at my mom, my sister and I
John: Oh he saw a video on the internet, then the case is closed
My mom looks at Axel and my dad, and Aria laughs
Axel: Well no I'm just saying if you watch the video maybe if I send you the link doesn't it look like he's trying to help?
John: Well yeah of course on the internet he's gonna look like the world's savior or something
Axel: No no I'm not saying he's a savior I don't think he's a savior at all
John: What are you trying to say?
Axel: I'm saying he's trying to help like maybe he's trying to do something maybe the police can't
John: Something the police can't? What do you think we do all day then? Just sit around eating donuts chatting with our coworkers?
Scarlett: Dad!
Carol: John!
Aria: Do what now dad?
Axel: I think he stands for what you stand for sir, protecting innocent people from bad guys
John: I stand for law in order son that's what I stand for okay I wear a badge this guy wears a mask and a suit like a criminal, how do we know he's not one of them?
I then put my fork down and look at Axel
Scarlett: Let's get some air, Axel
I get up from the table as I'm about to head for the balcony
Scarlett: Dad we'll talk later
John: Yes we will
Axel looks at my dad as he's about to get up
Axel: I'm sorry if I insulted you, that was not my intention, but thank you
John: You're welcome
Axel gets up and walks towards me
Axel: Branzino was real good Ms Ross
My mom then nods her head as Axel and I walk outside to the balcony
