Becoming Friends

Months after the break up.. I then realized I'd be moving to England shortly, I didn't want to leave on bad terms with him, so I called him..
Axel: **on the phone** Hey!
The next day, I waited for him at the bridge, then spotted him walking across the street over to me
I smiled at him as I saw him
Axel: *smiling* Hey
Scarlett: *smiling* Hi
Axel: You look amazing
I then smiled at him
Scarlett: Im sorry if this is a spontaneous hour, I just kind of-
Axel: No I don't- I.. spontaneous.. it's alright, you know?
Scarlett: Well I just figured it was time, you know?
Axel smiles
Scarlett: Time that we try to be friends
Axel looks a bit disappointed but nods his head
Axel: Yeah.. friends.. yeah.. that's great
Scarlett: I just don't want us to be complicated
Axel: Yeah, I don't want us to be complicated either
**both smile**
Axel: Okay, okay great.. yeah yeah
Axel then starts walking off as I follow next to him
Axel: But I mean.. if uh.. if we're gonna be friends I think we gotta.. set some ground rules
Scarlett: Some ground rules?
Axel: Yeah some ground rules
I laugh
Axel: Like that
Scarlett: Like what?
Axel: It's that laugh..that laugh, it's off the table
Scarlett: My laugh is off the table?
Axel: You gotta figure out a more annoying laugh
I then try and do an impression of an ugly laugh
Axel: That's still adorable
I continue laughing
Scarlett: No it's not adorable, that wasn't adorable
Scarlett: Okay I have a ground rule
Axel: What is it?
Scarlett: Uhh.. don't tell me that I look amazing..with your big brown dough eyes okay? I'm really serious about that one
I then rub my nose
Axel: Oh no
Scarlett: What?
Axel: *laughing* I just figured out the next ground rule
Scarlett: *laughing* what?
Axel: No more of this *rubs nose* no more of this little nose rub you do
Scarlett: *rubs nose* this?
Axel: Don't think I haven't seen it
Scarlett: What am I supposed to do? It's allergy season
Axel: *joking* this is killing me.. you're just spitting in the face of my ground rules, I'm out
Scarlett: *laughing* Come on
Axel: **joking** First we get ice cream, and then I'm out
We spent awhile talking after we got ice cream
This is the best I've ever felt since I've been with someone
Scarlett: Um yeah so I did that.. and I got completely addicted to this place that has korean meatballs
Axel: Yeah
Scarlett: Have you been there?
Axel: No yeah I know
Scarlett: It's mind blowing
Axel: Yeah it's the place on 6th you love it there
I then stare at him as we both stop walking
Scarlett: How do you know that?
Axel: Huh?
Scarlett: How do you know I love it there?
Axel: Cause um.. cause you told me
Scarlett: It just opened last month
I then look at him, realizing something
Scarlett: Have you been following me?
Axel looks down as I still look at him, smiling
Scarlett: I knew it! How often?
Axel then looks back up at me
Axel: Just once a day.. sometimes.. sometimes more
I smile at him, as I then look down
Scarlett: Oh boy
Scarlett: **looks back up at him** Why?
Axel and I then stare at each other's eyes
Scarlett: To make sure I'm safe?
Axel: Yeah.. and because it's the closest I can get to still being with you..
There's a brief silence as Axel and I still stare into each other's eyes, and then he suddenly rests his head on mine
Scarlett: I'm moving to england **pulls her head away**
Axel: What?
Scarlett: Yeah.. um.. I have a um.. I'm a first scholarship to oxford in molecular medicine and it's between me and this other kid and there's this oral exam that we have to take and he's like a freshman in college but he's fourteen and um.. and it's, it could be him but it might be me, I hope it's me.. and I'm gonna go to.. I'm gonna be moving to England
Axel: Wow
Scarlett: Yeah, and I'm really excited!
Axel: That's uhh.. that's great!
Suddenly he senses danger and turns around
Scarlett: What?
I then walk beside him to try and see what he was looking at, then I hear someone fly off.. I turn around only to find Axel gone
I then saw an altercation over on the other side and walked over there in front of the entire crowd, to find Axel there in his suit confronting the person
The person was trying to attack him but he quickly moved and started fighting back, saving those around him as he tried taking the enemy down
After awhile of them battling he was finally taken down by him and police, he then approached me and we both stared at each other
Axel: England huh? **flys off**
Scarlett: *confused* good talk
