It was 1:42 in the morning.  The day was October 26th.

Dazai stared blankly at the ceiling as he laid on his bed, not moving a muscle. Though the young man was dead silent, his mind was clouded with thoughts, the voice in his head seemed to get louder every minute. In his bandage hands, he held picture of someone he had wished he could hold onto longer.

Dazai felt a single tear drip down his cheek as a familiar wave of regret washed over him.  Clutching the photo to his chest, he continued to think about what his life would be like if he hadn't lost him.

"What if I was there sooner?" Dazai thought out loud, he choked on his words as more tears managed to slip from his chocolate brown eyes. "Would he still be here?"

The brown haired man groaned as he pressed his palms to his eyes.  So far, he had never allowed anyone to see this side of him.

Dazai's open bedroom window allowed the moonlight to enter his room. Before he knew it, a gust of wind came into his room, blowing the photo off of Dazai's chest. The young detective sighed as he sat up from his bed to grab the photo again.

He walked to where the wind had led the photo, still not saying a word.  The melancholic man reached down and picked up the photo again, revealing a picture of Odasaku.

Upon seeing his now gone friend, Dazai let out a cry as tears fell onto the photo.  Though he would never admit it, he would do anything to see Odasaku again, even if it was for mere seconds.

October 26th, Odasaku would've been 27.
