Oikawa, Kuroo, and Bokuto laid on top of the house's rooftop, taking in the sunset like it was forbidden art.
Since the world had changed, the three hadn't encountered any serene moments. Watching the sky's array of color was a rare opportunity which they grasped on to tightly.
Ostentatious red and crimson exploded in the sky, fading away into the obsidian background as the sun dipped away. Pastels replaced the vibrancy, soft purples and rosy pinks seeping into the black. The moon faintly appeared, creating an ethereal view as light lilac hues contrasted against the stars.
The boys would be departing in the morning, as the area was finally devoid of danger.
So the three were spending a tranquil night together, indulging in the earth's beauty.
"Hey Oikawa-kun" whispered Kuroo, his arms were crossed behind his head, providing support against the roof's hardness.
"Hey Kuroo-chan" replied Oikawa, keeping his gaze above to the sky.
"I'm glad we met.."
"Me too.. and you too Bo-chan."
Bokuto smiled at the remark but kept quiet. He now felt at ease enough to converse inside the house, but outside he didn't dare to. His fear was still there.
As the sky completely darkened, the boys returned inside, climbing through the second floor's window.
They went downstairs and gathered at the table to eat, it'd be their last meal together.
"Do you think you'll be okay tomorrow?" asked Kuroo, biting down into a grilled mackerel.
Oikawa nodded in response, chewing on a piece of milk bread himself.
The boys had raided a neighboring house earlier in the day to find equipment for Oikawa's journey and were lucky enough to stumble upon their favorite foods.
They would have returned to their group of friends instead, but decided it would be better to wait a day as a safety precaution.
Oikawa didn't mind the delay.
The time he spent with Kuroo and Bokuto was enjoyable. Even though Oikawa still felt pessimistic and had instances where he hurt himself, he found himself having fun with the two boys. He was going to miss them.
After dinner, Oikawa was finally able to shower. It was rejuvenating and it allowed him to change into clean clothes, putting on a string of body parts as well for safety. He even found gel to style his hair with.
"How are you hot even during a zombie apocalypse?" asked Kuroo incredulously, as Oikawa went to join the boys.
Oikawa gasped and clutched at his shirt, feigning surprise. "Me hot? You should see yourself Kuroo-chan."
"Fuck it, we're both hot" smirked Kuroo.
"Indeed we are, but neither of us can compare to Bo-chan and his beautiful biceps."
Bokuto turned a light shade of pink at the compliment but gave a confident grin.
"...Why thank you" he said, giving a melodramatic bow.
