A/N: as you can see in the last chapter, I am now being haunted by both my fellow Granevere shippers for 'betraying the ship'. And so for that, I have been scheduled to be buried alive next to Alucard and you will see us both in the news by morning.

The government will however presumed us death by the COVID-19 to frame the murder.

Hoes mad, it seems. UwU

Eden kicks the sleeping Hunter on the shin and Alucard screamed in pain, flipping on his back. "Ow! Eden, you psychopathic girl!"

"Time to go," Eden told him. She turns to patch, scowling when she finds him picking his nose. "Don't be such a lazy bum and go find your mentor!"

"I thought she was your mentor," He replied. Angrily, Eden grabs a small pebble from the ground and aimlessly throws it to him. "Fine, she'll be my mentor from now on. She's such a cutie anyway."

He sets course for the forest, following the flowery scent of the Miss Violet as he sniffed around the perimeter.

"Eat your booger while you're at her too!" Eden shouted from the meadow.

"Have fun with my perverted mentor!" He shouted back, and felt satisfied with himself when he heard her cuss loudly.

"Miss Genevieve, where are you?" Pax yelled loudly. "Oh wait, was her name Genevieve or was it Jennifer? Gunther, Gunner, or... Dammit. Her name has got to be the most complicating thing. Well, aside from my life, I suppose."

"Nice joke!" Someone mocked.

Patch turned to his left, seeing Guinevere carrying a tied up boy his age floating behind her. They share the same horrified look.

"Miss, uh-" Patch stuttered.

"Guinevere," Guinevere growled.

"Miss Guinevere! W-Who is that?" He winced.

"A Shadow Ranger at its prime. Let's go meet with the others. Can you lead the way? I kind of forgot the path I took."

Patch nodded and nervously began leading the way. A confident curve later on appeared on the side of his smile.

"Miss, there's something I want to ask you," he started, throwing a glance over his shoulder. Guinevere smiled back but he knew it was fake. It doesn't stop him from asking. "I want you to..."

"Ca-caw!" A crow cackled nearby, causing the two of them to duck and be on the lookout for an ambush.

"Want me to be what?" Guinevere said, resuming the small talk.

Patch cleared his throat. "I want you to teach me how to do magic, so I can cook more rabbits and have a greater chance of surviving in the wild!"

Guinevere blinked. "Then go and attend Magic Academy."

"But I don't meet the requirements. I'm just a human farm boy- I mean, was."

"You were," she agreed. "But now you're not. You neither belong in the social hierarchy because you protect the social hierarchy. Plus the Academy doesn't just do a knit picking from the hay. They want students who are passionate to become respectable mages, regardless of their social status so long as they are aware of your power."

The teenager sheepishly scratches his bald head. "Well, that wasn't what I wanted to ask anyways."

The redhead nodded, acknowledging. She doesn't even need to read his thoughts, just by his body language. "Are you asking me if I'm not married to Granger then?"

"Are you?"

Guinevere nodded. "I am and I still love him dearly..." Somehow it doesn't feel right saying it, as though she doesn't deserve to say it anymore.

Why did I even succumbed to that stupid bloke?!

"Are you okay?" Patch asked. Guinevere looks away, getting stressed out as she over thinks about the recent event. It has got to be her biggest mistake yet, aside from not killing her mother too.

Sensing their captive was suffocating on the rope, Patch was supposed to unsheathe his dagger when he remembers Guinevere was his acting mentor. "We should untie him. He might not be able to breathe."

But Guinevere shook her head. "He's just gonna run away like a pig and have him chase around like idiots. Do you really want the hassle?"

"What about your powers?" He motions at her hands.

"I'm too tired. Just, let's keep going. I think we're getting nearer for I can hear the bastards singing again."

Patch nodded, hearing it too. "They remind me of sailors in the ocean. Maybe they're just bored? Let them be if it makes them happy."

"Are you kidding? They're about to attract every kind of danger these woods will offer us. Remember that there are demons here, Abyssal demons even."

"Mmm! Hmm!" Their captive was flailing in mid-air again and Patch gives the woman an anticipating look.

"To hell with it," she sighed, throwing her hands into the air and breaking the spell. The boy fell hard against solid ground, releasing a mitigated cry. "Stand up now. Let's get moving."

The boy did so as told but he was running towards the opposite direction. Guinevere pinched the bridge of her nose, glaring at Patch. He gives her an unreadable frown.

The boy fell onto the ground again, flat and face first this time. "Tsk. Tsk. Tsk," Guinevere was making scornful sounds with her tongue as she circle around him. "If you're not going to answer my questions, at least heed on my implications."

"Shut up, Moniyan," the boy spat, wriggling away from her. "When Benedetta finds out about this, she's going to bring you straight to hell!"

"Who is this Benedetta? Is she a sister of Kouna?" Guinevere mocked.

"Benedetta is the heroine of these Barren Lands! She protects everyone from the corruption of the Empire!"

"Heroine, huh? I would like to meet her someday."

"Guinevere, is that you?" Alucard appeared from the cloud of bushes, armed with his sword. Eden followed suit right behind him.

"Somehow we found a Naturan," Guinevere reported.

The boy leaned his back against the stem of an centuries-old tree, glaring at the other Moniyans who have appeared. His stinging gaze stopped at Eden. Eden stared back, her gaze rather burning with curiosity over the marvelous stranger.

Who was he and why does he look so impeccably similar to her former Mentor?

"Naturan?" Alucard broke the silence.

"It's a tribe which once lived here. But I didn't know they would be able to remain existing after the Penultimate Battle though."

"Wait. Granger was born here, right? So it would make total sense why this boy looks like him."

"They're like separated brothers or what?" Patch scoffed, crossing his arms arrogantly.

"Who's this Granger you speak of?" The boy spoke calmer than before.

"He looks a lot like you, kid," Alucard stood beside Guinevere in the forefront of the team. "Especially with that white hair. Did your ancestors got struck by the same lightning and it became a birth defect?"

"This isn't the time for jokes," Guinevere huffed. She lends the boy a hand. "Come with us, please. You might be able to help him."

"Help him with what?"

"We think he's possessed by an evil entity, and I think it's the one you've mentioned."
