𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐘 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐘, 𝐌𝐘 body has been recovering from our trip to the particle collider. My back ached so much the first few days that I could barely walk, but I managed to get back on my feet thankfully. I missed a whole week of school because of the whole incident, but Chase was so sweet to visit me every day after work and help me keep up to date with my classes.

He fluffed up my pillows, warmed up my soup, filled up the bathtub, supported me to walk wherever I wanted to within the house and cleaned up after me and my grandfather. I honestly couldn't have asked for more help. He'd even asked for the weekend off to help take care of me.

My back is still sore, even though Bree has come by this week to practice yoga stretches with me to keep it moving. It had been two weeks since the ordeal, but that didn't mean that Chase had stopped carrying my backpack through the hallways for me. All I needed to do was change the books of the morning classes for the books of the afternoon classes while he held onto my backpack. He'd said that only if my back is feeling normal again would he let me carry my bag.

I push my last book into the bag and zip it close. 'Have I thanked you already for how sweet you've been?' I ask him and close my locker.

'Yes, about 37 times to be exact,' Chase says and chuckles when I softly slap against his arm. He puts down my backpack and leans against the wall. 'I didn't say I mind it. I think it's cute.' A smirk curls up the corners of his lips as he wraps his arms around my waist.

I cup his cheeks into my hands and bring his face to mine to softly kiss his lips. 'I can't be thankful enough of you,' I reply and dreamily stare into his eyes.

Adam, Bree and Leo gag in mockery as Chase lets go of me and clears his throat. Principal Perry's megaphone screeched everyone to silence without her even speaking into it. 'Listen up, waste fillers,' she began and adjusted her megaphone. 'This week is Emergency Preparedness Week. Throughout the week there will be surprising emergencies taking place.' She goes on for a little while about how we are to leave the building; like a kettle of cows. She's also so nice to tell us to go back to our lonely lives before she marches off.

'She's one to talk,' Leo says with a roll of his eyes.

'Now, now Leo,' I pipe up. 'She's not alone. She has five cats.'

A discussion breaks out among the bionic siblings to which Leo and I can only exchange a glance. It's boring not having silly bionic problems to worry over. Adam wants Bree's super speed so won't be stuck behind a bunch of cows when he has to get out of the building, while Chase says that if he had Adam's super speed, he'd run out of the building juggling those cows. The more they argue about bionics and kettle, the more confused I become.

'I'd kill for their bionics and they argue over wanting different bionics,' Leo mutters and waves them off with his hand. 'Children.'

The argument came to a sudden end when the siblings agreed to switch their chips. While I've been curious to know what they'd be like with different bionics, a part of me thinks that this is a terrible idea—as honestly are most of their ideas. While Leo is encouraging their idea, I nudge his ribs. 'I think it'd be a good idea to ask Mr Davenport first,' I propose, but the trio is listening to me.

I eye Leo to agree with him, but instead he pushes me forwards. 'They might listen to you when you tell them again,' he says.

'Why me? You're their stepbrother. They clearly didn't listen to me just yet,' I retort and switch positions with him. I push him a little closer to them and let him go.
