SURPRISE SURPRISE

At his house Zak was going over a few things when a knock came to the door.  He opened the door to see his daughter with his mother.  "Hey pumpkin how are you?" giving her a kiss.  "I missed you daddy" she remarked.  "Well we're going to have some fun while I give your grand mother a break" snickering 

"Very funny Zak I'll see you in a few days" she said and waved good-bye  "When do we leave dad" Lori asked.  "Our flight is not until tomorrow so I was thinking I could show you something".  They went upstairs and Zak opened a door to a room that he made up for Lori.  "Daddy this is so cool" as she ran into the room.  She jumped on her bed as Zak smiled. 

"Does this mean I'm moving in with you daddy?"  she asked.  "Yes but when I'm out of town you'll be staying with grand mom all right" he stated.  Lori ran to her father and hugged him.  The door bell rang so Zak went down to get it.  He opened the door to see Nick standing there.  "Nick what are you doing here?".  "I heard you're going to Florida to visit your father I just wanted to drop off-". 

"Dad I'm hungry can I have a sandwich" Lori asked coming down the stairs.  "I'll make you one Lori give daddy a minute" as Lori walked over.  "Who's this dad?" she asked holding a doll.   "This is one of dad's partners on his job Nick meet my daughter Lori" Zak stated.  "It's so nice to meet you Lori I have a daughter too her name is Annabelle" Nick said in a polite way. 

"That's my middle name" she replied smiling.  "Why don't you come in Nick"Zak stated.  As Lori was having lunch Zak and Nick went outside.  "All right spill it Zak".  "She was left on my doorstep when we came back from getting that offer to film Ghost Adventure's first season" Zak explained. "Who's been raising her?". 

"My mother and I have an understanding she would help me raise Lori and when we would come back from investigation and decompress, I would go over to my mother's house and spend time with Lori" Zak explained. "Why not tell us about Lori Zak?" he inquired.  "At the time I didn't think it was the right time considering and I don't want the news outlets or tabloids find out about her" as Zak looked at her. 

"You really love Lori".  "I'd kill anyone who would hurt her" Zak stated.  "I'd do the same thing for Annabelle Zak look I'll keep your secret untill you're ready to tell the gang about her".  Zak smiled as Lori walked over.  "Can we go to the park dad" she asked with a smile.  "We will but I want you to know that Uncle Nick and his wife are going to be your god parents do you remember the talk we had about being baptized" Zak said. 

"Where a priest pours water over my head and says some weird stuff" as Nick chuckled. "When we come back from Florida we'll have that". "It was nice to meet you Lori and when you come back you can meet my daughter" Nick replied.  "Bye Uncle Nick" she said as Zak walked him to the door.  "Thanks for doing this Nick" Zak said.  "No problem Zak she's going to be a beautiful woman when she grows up". 

"Great I'm going to have every boy in the neighborhood wanting to date her"Zak remarked as Nick chuckled.  "Just wait untill she hits her teenage years Zak you'll be wondering if you need a priest or your mother" Nick replied with a chuckle.  "Oh god" Zak muttered as he shut the door.
