After a year Nick decides to leave Ghost Adventures but swore to Zak he would still visit his god daughter. Lori had become a beautiful teenager which made Zak nervous when the word dating was heard around him. While he was working on Ghost Adventures Zak also worked on a documentary called: Demon House. At the house Lori was doing some homework when Gracie came in.

At eleven years old Lori wanted a pet so Zak and Lori went down to the nearest NSPCA shelter and picked up Gracie who Lori and Zak both fell in love with. The phone rang and Lori saw it's her father. "Hey dad how are you?"she asked. "Doing good look I'm going to be out of touch for the night so if you have any problems call your grandmother"he said. "I always do when you do lockdowns dad just becareful" she replied

"Yes dear" he joked as they laughed. "I love you dad" Lori said. "I love you too Lori" he replied and hung up. The next day Lori was excepting a call back from her father but didn't which made her nervous since he always called her right after a lockdown since she was seven years old.

She called her grandmother but she said that everything was all right but she could sense something wasn't right. Zak had notice since he took her on her first Ghost Adventure she had become sensitive to emotions or if a spirit was around her, in the house, or near her father. "Please is dad hurt is he in the hospital is he-dead" she asked as tears were falling down her face.

"Listen sweetie your father is fine he's alive, but something is wrong with his eyes he doesn't want you to worry I'm going to Indiana to bring your father home and some tests are going to be run to find out what's wrong". That night Lori was so nervous since she hadn't heard from her father or her grandmother a knock came to the door.

She ran to the door and opened it to see her Uncle Nick standing there. "Oh Uncle Nick thank god you got my message I've been so scared grandma nor dad will tell me what going on my mind is going in five different directions". Nick sat her down and held her hands.

"I talked to your grandmother your father barricade himself into demon house and something happened your father started to experience pain in the back of his eyes. I don't know if your father left the house or not but the next day he ended up with double vision he was taking to an eye doctor and they found out he developed a serious eye condition called Diplopia. They're running tests to find out if your father can have this corrected with surgery". "Can I talk to him please?" Lori asked as tears started to fall down her check.

"He doesn't want to talk to anyone right now not even the crew or me so don't worry". "I can't stop worrying Uncle Nick I keep thinking the worse thing possible and I don't know how to help him" as she started to cry. Nick comforted her as she cried. At the hospital after they did some testing Zak was sitting in his room as tears rolled down his face.

"Zak you all right?" his mother asked. "I talked to the doctor having corrective surgery runs a high risk of total blindness I have to wear prism glasses" he replied. "Oh Zak". "I don't know if I can handle this". "Zak don't think that you will maybe Lori can help you pick out some nice frames" she remarked. "Mom I think she needs to stay with you for a while I'm in no shape to deal with Lori"Zak stated as tears ran down his face. "Zak don't go down this road you will be OK"she said.

"No I'm not mom just go away!!" Zak yelled. His mother left his room and let her son deal with what was going on. That night while Lori slept Nick called Zak's mother. "He's heading down a bad road but I don't know how to get him back".
"I know Zak will kill us but I think both Lori and her father need each other right now" as he looked at Lori a sleep on the couch.

In his hotel room Zak was laying on the bed with an ice pack on his head as a migraine had hit him like a freight train. He heard a knock at his door. "GO AWAY!" he yelled. The door opened slowly and someone came in. "Who's there?"Zak called out. "It's me dad your daughter Lori" a voice said softly. "What are you doing here?" as he sat there. "Uncle Nick and grandma thought I should come since you were letting your emotions gets the best of you" as she walked to the side of his bed and sat down.

"I shouldn't of done what I did" he stated. "Dad you're a paranormal investigator you wanted answers and you got them the only way you knew how" rubbing her father's hand. "But I paid for it" as he started to tear up.  "Dad I read some of the articles on that house a lot of people got hurt or sick when they were in that house but dad you shouldn't let it get the best of you. Don't let that house win" she said as she wiped the tears from his face. "How did I raise such a smart girl?" as Zak smiled at his daughter.

"Maybe when you finish getting all your testing done you get your prescription for your lenses. We'll get some great glasses in black" as Lori smirked. "Come here snuggle up with me I could use your warm hug" Zak stated as Lori snuggled with her father. "Dad I think it's time for Demon House to go"Lori suggested as she put her head on her father's chest. "I think you're right Lori" as he kissed her forehead.
