SURPRISE SURPRISE

At his house Zak was sleeping when he heard Lori yelling for him. He ran to her room as Lori was sitting up in bed crying as Zak comforted his daughter. Since the accident Lori had been having nightmares so vivid that they would wake her up scaring her to the point where she would call for her father.

After Zak got her settle down and back to sleep he went downstairs to find his mother coming out of the guest bed room. "Another nightmare?". "Yea" as Zak itched his head. "Zak I think she need to talk to a therapist about the accident" she suggested giving him some tea. "I tried mom but she won't talk about it not to me either".

"Zak she's suffering from PTSD she needs to let out how she feels"she replied. "I wish I knew how mom" Zak remarked. "Zak did anyone die in that accident". "Yeah the driver of the semi they did an autopsy and found out he had a fatal heart attack while he was driving the semi. Mom what are you getting at?"Zak asked. "I know you've explained to Lori what you do maybe trying to get an EVP from the driver may help her" his mother suggested.

At the warehouse Zak was taking a nap in his office when a knock came to the door that knocked Zak to the floor. The door opened and Aaron came in. "You all right?". "Yea what's up?" he asked rubbing his head. "Nick called he say that everything is set up for tomorrow what's going on?" Aaron inquired. "Just some college kids are doing a paper on Poveglia and the paranormal so they want to talk to me and Nick going to show them some evidence we got from the place" Zak replied.

"Why didn't you involve me?". "We didn't think you'd enjoy it beside we're not going to be there long" Zak remarked. The next day Zak and Lori were driving. "Dad where are we going?" she asked. "I'm going to help you with the feelings you're having"he replied. "If you're taking me to another shrink". "No I want to try another way here we are" Zak remarked. She looked and saw Nick standing there next to a chain lick fence. "What's going on?"she asked.

"I'll tell yea come on"Zak stated. They got out and went over to Nick as he open the fence. "Shall we" and they all went in. "What are we doing at a junk yard?" Lori asked. "Because you need to face what's causing these nightmares and I'm going to help you". Lori looked and saw the semi and the bus she was on the day of the accident. "Oh no dad" as she started to walk off until Zak blocked her.

"Honey listen to me I know you're scared I can feel it but the nightmares aren't going to go away until you face what's causing them"Zak explained. "How dad the man is dead he had a heart attack when he plowed into us". "His body might be gone but his spirit might still be in there. Just try it or we can try option two therapy". "All right beside I always wanted to see how you work dad" as they smiled. "All right Lori I'm going to stay out here while you and your father go into the semi"Nick stated.

"OK". Zak grabbed a spirit box and a recorder. "You hold this" giving her the spirit box. They walked into the semi and Lori looked around. "How you feeling?". "Like I'm ready to run home with out looking back"she remarked. "Know that feeling tons of time"Zak replied. "You're going to have to tell me dad"Lori stated. "I'm surprise you haven't found it on You Tube yet they probably have a whole section dedicated to me," as Lori covered a laugh. They sat down together as Zak took out the recorder. "You ready for your first Ghost Adventures?" Zak asked.

"Yea". "Ok turn on the box". She turned on the box as Zak held the recorder. "Isiah Derek we know that you were the driver of this semi we would like to know if there's anything you want to say" Zak called out. Dead. Lori couldn't believe it as Zak motioned for her to say something. "Why did you hit that bus of children for?" she asked. Pain chest. "Did you mean to hit that bus?" Zak asked.

Blackness. Lori turned off the box as she started to tear up. "Dad I get it he felt pain in his chest which was the heart attack but the blackness is when-he died"Lori stated as tears fell down her face. Zak turned off the recorder he turned to his daughter who started to cry. Zak hugged her. "He shouldn't of died like that" she cried.

"Not a lot of people can pick how they want to die you ready to get out". She nodded as they left. Outside Nick helped Lori out. "You allright?". "Yea thanks to dad and you"she replied giving Nick a hug. "You're welcome pumpkin". "Dad did you get anything on the recorder?" Lori asked. Zak put it next to his ear and listen than his eyes lite up. "I know that look you got something" Nick replied. "What is it?". He put it next to Lori's ear and played it.

"It sounds like the same voice we got in the semi and it said sorry" she remarked. "I guess he's apologizing for what he did" Zak replied as Lori wiped her tears away. "Dad I think I'm ready to talk to someone about what happened that day". "Come on let's go home and we'll talk about it" and they all left.
