CHAPTER FIVE

JESSICA

As soon as I reached home, I checked if Anna is home or not because I didn't want to bake the cake in front of her as I wanted to give her a surprise. She told me that she had few plans with her friends so thankfully she left the house before I reached.

I quickly started preparing to bake the cake and my mom was also there to help me so it became a little easier for me. Once I was done baking the cake, which thank god didn't fail, I started preparing for the party. I invited Anna's friends as well as my friends most of them were my classmates. After inviting our friends, I asked my mom to place an order for food and beverages and started decorating the house. Anna wasn't home yet which was a good thing actually because I wanted to do everything on my own for her birthday party without her help, but if she was here with me she wouldn't have let me do all these things alone, she would have ended up convincing me to let her help me, but it would have looked so weird that she was decorating and doing stuff for her own birthday. It was her day to enjoy and give orders only.

I was almost done with everything just then the doorbell rang, my mom went to open the door. It was Anna.

"Oh my god Jess, you did all this by yourself?!" Anna exclaimed as soon as she entered the home.

"No, the neighbours did" I rolled my eyes and replied sarcastically. "Of course, I did this you dumbass, who else do you think would do this?"

"Aww Jess, I love you so much!" She came and hugged me

"Thanks, I love me too" I chuckled

"Go to hell!" Anna hit my shoulder and we both burst into a laugh.

"Now come with me, I have something to show you" I grabbed her hand and started walking towards the kitchen.

"What is it?" Anna asked curiously

"Can't you just wait for a minute, you impatient bitch" I snapped "Here I baked this for you"

"Holy shit, you baked this cake for me?? You are so amazing Jess!" Anna cried and hugged me again

"Ya ya I know I am amazing thanks" I giggled "I love you stupid"

"I love you too Jess, I really mean it" Anna sounded very emotional, her eyes were almost filled with tears. She has always been a sensitive bimbo; smallest efforts make her emotional.

"I know that very well, now it's almost 5 PM, I've already invited our friends and I've told them that party will start after 7:30 PM, don't you want to get ready? let's go, I will help you" I giggled and then we both went to my bedroom.

We were almost done and Anna was looking like a princess in that white dress. I decided to wear a simple midi-length black dress which had cold-shoulder sleeves and paired them with nude pumps, I didn't wear any accessories or jewellery because it was a small party and I didn't want to look overdressed.

We went downstairs, mom and dad already left for the dinner meeting about which they had told us earlier and thank god they took ginger with them otherwise she would have ended up creating a mess in the party. I don't like to tie her or lock her in the room so I asked mom to take her with them, fortunately, she agreed to that. Everyone started coming and within an hour the hall was filled with people who were dancing, chatting and playing games as well, the party was going on in full swing and everyone was enjoying. I was with Anna all the time, she introduced me with her friends. We were enjoying the party just when I saw Jason with my two classmates well to be specific I saw him with Samantha, the most popular girl in our batch, almost every other guy in our batch had a crush on her but she, on the other hand, had a crush on Jason, who without a second thought rejected her because he was already dating someone else. when Jason told me that Sam had a crush on him but he rejected her I was so surprised but at the same time I was really impressed with Jason's decision, it made me believe that there were still some guys left who were loyal with their partners. Along with Samantha, he was with her groupmate Shane and what the hell Ethan! What was he doing here, I don't remember inviting him, is he Jason's friend? Whatever it was but- oh god I didn't even know how to react.
