Philip's POV
I see my dad coming home really sad it looked like he was crying. I given him the silent treatment for almost a year and I think that's long enough.
"Hey pa what's wrong?"
He set the newspaper down on the table
Former President George Washington passes away peacefully
I just stood there looking at the headlines. I remember him being like the Dad my Dad never had. I give him a hug and he just hugs me back.
"Philip I love you son"
"I love you too Pa"
Days later
We are at the funeral and it's huge it's like the whole country is here. I see my mom and Dad talking to each other and for the first time in a long time they hug... and KISS. I smile and walk out of the room. Things were finally going to be normal at home again!
