As I exited my house to go for my morning jog, I saw people at the house next door. That house had been empty for months. It seems as if they finally sold it.
A U-Haul came around the corner and pulled over by the house. The garage opened up just as the back of the truck did. I saw a blond boy about my age and a dark haired man get out of the car.
I started to feel self conscious about my outfit. I was wearing a short sports top and short shorts.
The blond boy saw me and waved. I waved back. He turned and began to walk towards me.
Great, I thought.
"Hi," said the boy. "I'm Nate." He extended his hand towards me. I shook it.
"Cassie," I introduced myself.
"Do you live in that house right there?" Nate asked, pointing to my house.
"Yeah."
"I'm your new neighbor."
"Cool. I would love to stay and chat, but I gotta run. Literally."
"Oh, no problem. Nice meeting you." Nate stuck his hand out and I shook it once again.
I turned and began to jog away. I slipped my earbuds on and played Welcome to the Show by Famous Last Words.
I jogged for about twenty minutes before I decided to turn back. I was hot and sweaty and I needed a shower. I rounded the corner and headed home.

The warm water felt nice against my skin. It felt good to be clean.I shut the water off and grabbed my towels. I wrapped one around my hair and the other around my body. I stepped out of the shower. I walked down the hall and into my room.
I pulled out an Of Mice and Men shirt and slipped it on over my bra. I chose a pair denim shorty shorts and finished getting dressed.
I pulled off the towel and blow dried my hair.
When that was done, I walked into the kitchen. I grabbed some ingredients and began to measure them out. I mixed it all up and poured it into the muffin tins.
