After hearing Josh's secret, nobody was really surprised. Most of us has already guessed it. In some ways it was obvious. Others, not as much.
None of us had a problem with the secret. The other eight didn't either. In fact, we took it as an opportunity to bond.
"We should all tell a secret," said Perry. Everyone nodded.
"I'll go first," Danny volunteered. "When we were in fifth grade, I had a crush on Mrs. Sanchez."
"Buddy, we already knew that. But since I'm talking I might as well share," Tanya said. "I stuff."
"Me next!" Madaline cried out. She's always been the peppiest one. "In seventh grade, I made out with Micky Harrison."
"Ga-ross!" I said in disgust. "I'll admit that when I was in fourth grade, I made out with a mirror to see if I was any good."
"Been there. Done that," Anna said. "When I was in sixth grade, I wet the bed because I drank four bottles of water right before I went to sleep."
"My dad is in prison for murder," Andrew shared.
"My mom caught me smoking a cigarette last month. First and last," Daryl admitted.
"You all know my secret, but I'm going to share again since it's the only one I have," Josh told us. "I'm gay."
"I once had a crush on Anna," said Xavier. Anna blushed.
"I have a tattoo of a black cat across my left thigh," Rachel said.
"I once went six weeks without taking a shower," Steven said.
"My favorite color is pink," Parker shared.
"I have never worn a two piece bathing suit or short shorts in fear that people will laugh," said Perry.
Although I've known everyone since before preschool, I feel like I got to know them better today.
