As you know this is the story of Dustin and Jake, maybe even someone unexpected. I know this might be a bit back but I want to start from the beginning. Starting on Dustin's tenth birthday.....

Dustin was a sweet happy child who never cared what anyone thought of him. He had a couple friends and they were the best he ever had. Dustin would mess with the girls making them mad and stomp off. He was a sarcastic child who loved to play pranks on others. Though he was an obnoxious child he still listened to his parents and teachers quite well. He was what you would call a 'perfect child' at a first glance. But at home his life was miserable but he always seemed to cover it up. Dustin was an only child so that made life a bit harder. His parents were always drinking and smoking, doing crazy things. They would sometimes beat him telling him to go to his room for doing something he didn't do. Dustin's parents only hurt him where he could cover up of course so they wouldn't get in trouble. He still loved his parents even though they hurt him so much. His home wasn't really a home, more like a hellish prison. No friends were ever allowed to come over, no games or tv allowed, no pets were ever allowed inside or to be owned, he was fed very little, and his room was extremely crowded.

Well if he could call it his room. It was more of a storage room, full of boxes and useless junk lying around got thrown in there. It smelled like the carpet was molding and it hardly had any light. In the farthest and darkest corner of the room lay a small cot. It had only one blanket and pillow. Some nights Dustin spent shivering, unable to sleep through the night. In home, truly it was a prison. Dustin did all the work of cleaning the house. He cleaned all the windows, made the food other than takeout, vacuumed the carpet and took out the trash, mowed the lawn, made the beds that would only be messed up in a few hours, clean the horrid smelling bathrooms, did the laundry, and even went shopping for food most of the time.

That's what he did on the weekends every time. The only time Dustin was free is when he was at school. He had great grades any parent would love to see; he participated in any after school activities he could just to stay away from home. Most boys would say football or some sport would be their favorite thing to do. Not Dustin though, he liked to draw and sketch but for some odd reason he never colored them in. As the months passed it was finally December 19, Dustin's birthday. Of course he had no birthday party and no friends to invite over to come and play. His birthday present from his parents was a day off of work. But next year they said you will have the biggest surprise you'll ever imagine Dustin.
