The flash blinded Luka, causing him to fall backwards with his hands gripping his face. Just before the flash, he had seen someone else in Mayura's place, someone with a black and red helmet. And Hawk Moth, oh god, he had unified with Sass. Poor Sass, Luka wondered if he was okay.

After the green light had dimmed, Luka found himself in a dark room. His ears rang as he sat up, his head throbbing. Trying to blink the dizziness from his eyes, he realised there was some sort of catwalk ahead of him. It was suspended over dark, shimmering water which somehow made the room eerier.

'What are you doing here?" A loud boom echoed through the room as Luka spun to find a cane pointing towards him. He was defenceless against the villain standing over him, with rage gleaming in his dark eyes.

He didn't have his miraculous, he didn't have anything to fight back. Swallowing back a yelp, he responded, "I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know? You did something! You-"

"I swear! I don't know. I don't even know where we are!"

His eyes hardened, his cane unmoving, threatening to smack him across his face.

"You're a weakling, I don't even know why Ladybug let you join her team. You're worthless."

Tears stung Luka's eyes, he looked up to find instead of Hawk Moth's face, another face. Two pair of coppery eyes stared back at him with disgust, his rugged puffy chin was pinned on his chest with an alcohol bottle in front of him, ready to hit him with.

Luka reached for his arm covered wrist bands, his hands shaking. He closed his eyes, praying that the horror would go away. His hateful words filled his head, no matter how many times his mother told him they weren't true, no matter how many times his sister would hug him, crying, he had believed every word. It hurt.

He opened his eyes, finding Hawk Moth still glaring at him. "Where are we?" He blurted. Where was Ladybug? Was she okay? What had he done to her? Hawk Moth searched him for a lie, he didn't find any. He put his cane down, "You're not lying."

"You just realised?"

"Just because you're young and unexperienced doesn't mean I won't use my cane against you!" He snarled. Luka sealed his lips and nodded, trying to shut out another unpleasant memory. He wished he had his guitar for company, whenever he was upset, he would distract himself on it, these was one of those times.

"We're in the basement of my house, two years ago." He replied, a serious look plastered across his face. Luka looked up at him in bewilderment, a million questions racing through his head. "Wait, what? But how? The snake miraculous only allows their holders to go back 5 minutes!" He exclaimed, bewildered.

"Use your brain, boy."

"I'm sorry, but there's no way. The miraculous can't be altered- Ladybug told me so herself."

"Now did she? Seriously, you and that Laybug. When will you get it in your head? It won't happen. Chat Noir tried and failed. It's always complicated when it come to relationships among the Miraculous holders" Hawk Moth sighed, "Fine, I'll tell you kid. Only because I pity you and your lack of intelligence."

Luka looked over to his enemy and swore that he looked pained, almost, heartbroken. Hawk Moth? Having feelings? He couldn't believe it. He couldn't also believe that he was in the same room as him without having ripped his head off already and instead, talking. If he told his past self what he was doing now, he would have laughed at how absurd it sounded and would've shaken his head in denial.

Well, it still seemed absurd.

Hawk Moth cleared his throat, "I used my akuma on Mayura and turned her into a supervillain that can multiply the powers of a miraculous holder. 18th November, I did the same and she gave me the power akumatise over half of the city all at once."

He flashed back to that memory and shivered. He had remembered being in his room when he heard a crash and saw his mum akumatised again. Luka remembered how helpless he felt as he was tied up at the back of the boat in chains as he trembled from the cold and from crying. He even heard that his sister also got akumatised after he escaped. He felt distressed, and overall, mad.

His eyes narrowed when he realised that Hawk Moth was behind it, he had made him feel helpless. He made Ladybug suffer. He made the whole city suffer. He was going to pay. Luka needed a plan to get out of there.

He pretended to look interested in Hawk Moth explanation as the gears turned in his head. He couldn't act out now, he was powerless without his miraculous. He needed Hawk Moth to hand over the snake miraculous, but how?

"Hey Hawk Moth, can you divide? Cause I'm wondering if there could be another supervillain of yours that can divide powers instead of multiplying as you turned Mayura into?"

"Divide? What use would that give-?"

With a bright flash, the snake bracelet that was latched onto his arm flew off with a woosh, landing in front of Luka's feet. Sass flew out of the bracelet and looked at him with urgency, which Luka immediately understood.

Hawk Moth eyes widened in surprise "N-No! You tricked me! Dare put that bracelet on and-"

Luka snatched up the miraculous off the cold concrete floor on snapped it on his wrist, wincing from the force. "Sass, scales slither!" Hawk Moth darted towards him, his cane upraised. It was met with a bright green light and the crash of a lyre clashing onto it in midair.

"You stupid boy, you can't stop me now. If you understood you'd-"

The sound of whirring could be heard overhead and a loud clanging of metal grinding, creating a sequence of creaks. It sounded almost like, an elevator. Hawk Moth put his cane down, face frozen in shock as he whirred around, facing the elevator doors.

"Emelie-" His outstretched hands reached for the elevator, trying to reach for something, or someone. Luka knew that he had to do something, if he didn't do something now, the future would look different. Eyes squeezed shut, he brought his hand down, praying that the power of Mayura's akuma was still working.

Luka thought about Ladybug and Chat Noir tied up, his sister, his mother. He couldn't let them down. He shut his eyes, "No chance!" With a strong woosh, he was blown back. But he didn't know how far he had brought them.
