Five Pov
"Hey, is your stomach okay? You got hit by that fire extinguisher." I asked, remembering how someone had thrown a goddamn fire extinguisher through the portal.
"Hm? Yeah. Just a small bruise. It'll be gone in a day or two." Lina replied, giving me a smile.
"That's good. Anyways, I don't remember this place being such a shithole," I said, deciding to start a conversation with the male that had been mistaken for our parent.
"We used to come here as a kid. Sneak out of the house with our brothers and sisters, and eat doughnuts 'till we puked. We had our first date here, too. Simpler times, huh?" I continued, disregarding the confusion growing on the male's face.
"Eh. I suppose." The male replied, just as the waitress came back out with our orders.
"Two black coffees for the kids, one chocolate eclair for the man and one chocolate eclair for the girl." The waitress repeated, earning a small thank you from Lina.
"Here. I got theirs." The male offered, paying for our orders.
"Thanks."
"Thank you."
I glanced at the emblem on his jacket, which said "Schuman's Towing" on it. Lina just consumed her treat silently but quickly, keeping an eye on the door.
Just after the male had left the shop with his eclair in hand, a group of heavily armed men entered the store.
"The feeling is never wrong," Lina stated, her blood-red eyes blazing golden yellow.
"Hmm. I know. That was fast. I thought we'd have more time before being found." I commented, not bothering to face the men behind us.
"Okay. So let's all be professional about this, huh? On your feet and come with us. They want to talk." The leader spoke, keeping a gun trained on me.
[Five in total, all armed with machine guns. I'll take three here, and you take the other two on your side.] Lina said through sign language, which was often used between us to converse without being found out what we were talking about.
"I'm afraid that we don't have anything to say to them," Lina commented, giving the men a devilish smile.
"It doesn't have to go this way. Do you think I want to go home after shooting two kids? And have that on my conscience?" The man continued.
"Well, I wouldn't worry about that. Because-"
"-You won't be going home," I finished, grabbing the knife laid on the table as Lina formed a force field shaped into a blade in her hand.
After that, things went really quickly. I spatial jumped and attacked the man who had his gun trained on me, who shot up the lights in the ceiling on his way down. Lina fearlessly dove at the attackers with the barely visible knife in hand, her force field protecting her body from harm.
As I jumped around the shop, I could see Lina's focused face as she slit the men's throat without any remorse or hesitation. Ruthlessness was something that she'd acquired during the six months that we'd been apart. But that was also the same for me.
"Hey, assholes!!" I called out, appearing on a table, lying sideways to face them.
And before they could locate me, I jumped again to a different location. Of course, the idiots just shot up the place randomly in hopes of catching me. Meanwhile, Lina used her small body and the broken lights as an advantage to hide under one of the tables.
"Do you want me to just kill them all?" Lina asked as I appeared beside her underneath the table.
"You have enough blood on your hands."
"So do you! Plus, I have a much lower chance of getting hurt compared to you."
Scoffing lightly, I jumped to the door, knocking it to get the attackers' attention. I jumped to a different location, giving the male a two-finger salute just before doing so.
Lina used her powers to isolate and separate the heads of two of the attackers, the bodies and heads falling to the ground helplessly. Then she sat on the table that she had been hiding underneath, attracting the remaining attackers' attention as I proceeded to stab one in the lung with the knife I'd grabbed off of the table not too long ago.
The sound of gunshots filled my ears as they shot at Lina, who was calm- even bored-looking- as I broke one man's neck using my tie, and stabbed another in the balls with a pencil. Now, instead of gunshots, screams filled my ears.
Lina finished the last remaining man off with a polite smile as I used the bloody pencil to stab my man in the eye and end his life. I collected my tie off of the now dead man lying on one of the tables and met up with Lina, who stood in front of the somehow alive, shot-up man on the floor. She severed his head with one swing.
"Here. Let me help." She said, gently re-fixing my tie in its rightful place.
"What a date, huh?" I commented, giving her a tired smile.
"I enjoyed it. Well, sort of. It would've been nice if there weren't angry hitmen chasing after us with machine guns." Lina replied, laughing lightly.
