Cha-cha Pov

"I was really surprised to find that the two kids had tattoos- I mean, who lets a kid get a tattoo?!" The shrivelled-up prune of a woman exclaimed, exasperated.

"Unbelievable." Hazel agreed.

"You mind drawing that tattoo?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

I could remember Carol's tattoo as though I'd seen it yesterday. It was that tattoo that haunted my dreams at night. It was her psychotic laughter that haunted me every day. It was her gleaming blood-red eyes, filled with untamed bloodlust that seemed to watch me from every shadow.

Despite the fact that I was the one that had tortured Carolina Rose, I was the one being haunted by memories of her.

TINKLE-!

The three of us all turned towards the door as someone entered the store.

It was a young but pretty teenaged girl with black hair, dressed in an academy uniform.

I felt my body freeze from fear at the sight of a pair of beautiful blood-red orbs and silky black hair. Thick waves of bloodlust paralyzed my body from head to toe, drowning me in helpless despair and fear. An absurd amount of pressure slammed against me as the girl's menacing presence was directed at me and solely me for a few seconds that felt like hours.

"Well well well... look what we have here. If it isn't Cha-cha the torturer. Tell me, how's the Commission treating you?" The young girl questioned casually, her blood-red eyes blazing into the oh-so-familiar golden yellow.

"Not very well, assuming by your look. How unfortunate. I hope that all that torturing was worth it- because one day, I'll repay all of it back to you- for five times the amount of pain and suffering you presented me with." The girl continued, her sinister tone sending unpleasant shivers up my body.

She then turned her attention to Hazel, giving the old waitress a brief glance. The waitress stared at the girl for a few minutes, furrowing her eyebrows as she was put into deep thought.

"We meet again, oversized walrus." The girl said, tilting her head with a devilish smirk on her red lips.

"As your senior, let me give you a piece of advice. Think twice before doing something stupid. ...Or else you may find yourself losing everything before your very eyes."

"Y- you're Carolina Rose-!" Hazel muttered, recognition dawning on his face.

"Correct. You're surprisingly dumber than I thought. But then again, at least you're smarter than your female partner over there," Carol commented, chuckling darkly.

"Instead of continuing on with your pathetic attempts at trying to kill my husband and bring me back to HQ, why don't the two of you do me a favour and tell my mother to fuck off and shoot herself? Or whenever she dies, call me. I'd love to cut her head off and put it up on my bedroom wall." Carol continued, before turning her attention towards the old waitress.

Agnes was dumbfounded by the torrent of horrifying words that came tumbling out of Carol's mouth, eyes wide with terror.

"Two chocolate doughnuts- one with rainbow sprinkles, and two black coffees," Carol ordered, an innocent smile on her young face.

"S-sure,"

Agnes hurried to get the orders, soon coming back to Carol with the two doughnuts and the two cups of coffee. As Carol extended her hands to take her orders, the old waitress saw the elaborate tattoo on Carol's wrist, recognizing it almost immediately.

"You're- That girl from the shooting!!" Agnes said, surprise lacing her voice.

The old woman's words just confirmed my suspicions. It was Five and Carolina Rose that had been in the shop that night. And it was also those two that had liquidated the mercenaries that destroyed the shop.

"Thank you for the treats. These two will pay." Carol said casually, gesturing to Hazel and Cha-cha as she left the shop with the food and drink in hand.

My knees felt weak. I fell to the floor, clinging to the nearest table just as Carol disappeared from view. I'd only known her properly for six months- but the fear and terror that I'd encountered from her wrath all those years ago were still fresh in my mind and body.

The breath that I didn't know I had been holding came out of my paralyzed lungs.

I thought that I'd gotten better.

Obviously, that wasn't the case.

"Cha-cha!! Are you all right?" Hazel asked, helping me up from my position on the floor.
