A recap of their tragic past.
After the death of Bella, Jacob still imprints on Renesmee without her father knowing. He eventually finds out, almost beating Jacob to death as he fights backs until Carlisle and Emmett stop him. Carlisle and Esme were both disappointed by his behavior. Fortunately, Edward still had a glance of hope for Bella to live because of Alice's vision, simply seeing her awake hugging Edward, while he smiles back.
While Jacob is broken over the loss of losing his best friend. Rosalie hating the imprinting as well, Emmett and Jasper staying neutral, Carlisle, Esme, and Alice unsure about the whole situation, but staying calm. Days passed by, weeks as well, Bella never woke up, slowly Edward's mood shifts from content & hopeful to hatred & grief without any tears. The loss greatly impacted to his family, mainly himself so much, in fact, he couldn't bear to look or be around his own daughter, only causing him to remember was he desperately didn't want to lose.
Alice tried and talked to Edward about the loss, he didn't want to hear it, yet she kept talking. Explained he would need to move on with his daughter. Edward knew she was right, just never wanted to consider her dead. From there the two were on good terms, except for how Edward treated Renesmee.
Edward tried and stay content around Renesmee, but his hatred remained. She never saw him truly happy, not even around his family, a part inside of him was crushed in better words- abandoned.
His family came to terms with Jacob about the imprint,Edward never did,yet his family made the decision for Renesmee to live with Jacob so she'd be safe. He argued, never wanting her to live with him, rather live in guilt with her then without her. Yet, after meeting Aro to discuss how she isn't a threat, he forced himself to let her live with him, but made it very clear it was only for her protection. Renesmee didn't want to leave him although he never made much of an effort to spend much time with her, a small part of her wanted to be with him.Just before she left with Jacob, Rosalie gave Renesmee a necklace with her father and mother photograph inside.
"Plus que ma propre vie" it was engraved in French, meaning "more than my own life". She smiled looking back at her niece. Since then, Renesmee departed leaving her family, her ungrateful father, to a man she barley knew much about.
