A week has passed since the last night we had by the fire. I've been catching a lot upon my reading just as my father wanted. Being homeschooled, for the most part, I was used to learning on my own. I was in school for a short while but, after a family discussion if "it was safe to have me in a school with so many kids." They took me out just to be safe, I already knew how I acted about humans..... normal, but I suppose they didn't see it that way. Walking out of my room to the living room and noticing how bright the sun shined through the blinds I looked away. Looking back, noticed my arm and realized it was shimmering. The rest of my family told me about how they could do the same, but every time I showed in the sun I couldn't see anything. It was a small shimmer on my upper arm and the back of my hand, but it was an unusual sight to see.
"You shining like the rest of em?" Jacob asked, from behind me.
I whipped my head around excitedly and yelled: " I can glimmer, I can REALLY glimmer!"
"Not as cool as becoming a werewolf, though."
He smiled,with a chuckle.
I laughed back and skipped to the kitchen for something to eat.
I will say eating with Jacob was a good thing apart from when we would bicker like siblings.
I loved the company when we would eat different meals together and the endless chatter about our likes and dislikes. Unlike eating with my family, I was the only one who ate, while my grandmother whipped up meal after meal for me,made me feel guilty, and I hated that.
As we ate breakfast I noticed the mail,and saw

"Can I see the mail?" I asked moving closer.
"No I just was gonna toss it anyways it wasn't anything important." He mumbled,walking off, but I could've sworn I saw a bit of the white letter. Shaking my head in disbelief,I cleaned up my dishes.
The rest of the day spent reading and painting, however my head kept pondering "Why would they write to us?" "Why didn't they just call?" The most asked question in my head was
"Why was Jacob hiding it from me?"
