CHAPTER 17

17: The Acquaintance Party

Luna's POV

"Are you okay?" Tanong ni Cloud nang mapansing kanina pa ako walang imik.

"Yes." I plainly replied.

Actually, iniisip ko si Hiro. If I'm not mistaken, the necklace he was looking for was the same one he was wearing on a daily basis. Is it possible he misplaced it inside my room? But I didn't clean it earlier—It was Sirius. Then perhaps he found it while fixing the bed. I should just ask him later.

"Luna..." Cloud snapped me out of my reverie. "Napilitan ka lang bang maging partner ako?" He suddenly asked dahilan para kumunot ang noo ko.

"As I previously stated, Vice President Hwang and I made a deal which requires me to attend the party, and since you were the first to invite me, I accepted your invitation." I explained, but he still doesn't seem convinced. "Look, Cloud. You weren't the only one who approached me to become their partner. There were other students who left letters in my locker, but you were the only one who personally invited me. You have earned my approval."

I heard him sigh, "Hindi ka talaga napilitan?"

I shrugged my shoulders as I turned to look out the window, "Kung napilitan lang ako, naprangka na sana kita kanina pa pero hindi. So stop being dramatic, parang iiyak ka na, e." Nakuha ko pa siyang asarin.

He chuckled softly which made the ambiance even better.

"By the way, I forgot to mention how stunning you were when I first saw you earlier. I was just startled because you yelled out of nowhere and then had a touching moment with your brother after. Honestly, I couldn't find the right timing to compliment you."

"It's fine. Kahit 'di mo na rin sabihin, alam ko namang nagagandahan ka sa akin araw-araw."

It was just a joke. Sana naman na-gets niya.

"Well, you're right. It's not just me, but everyone at school as well. I wonder how they will react when they see you later."

Sabi ko nga, hindi niya na-gets.

"Sa ibang dimension ka ata nag-aaral. Wala silang ibang pinuna sa akin except sa kung gaano kasama ang ugali ko."

"Ayun lang talaga ang madalas mong marinig. But I swear, there are also students who admire you. You're pretty inside and out, I'm sure of it."

Napasinghal na lang ako bago muling tumingin sa labas ng bintana.

"Oo nga pala, bakit nagsinungaling ka kanina sa kapatid mo?"

Natigilan ako saglit sa tanong niya.

"Sorry, I just have to do that." I apologized. "I was actually with a friend. They don't know who he is, and it's not the right time for them to find out. Sorry, nadamay ka pa."

"No, it's okay. I won't cross the line as long as you're with a good guy." He answered.

Napaka-understanding niya.

"Since pumayag na akong Luna ang itawag mo sa akin, you can now treat me as a friend. Para man lang makabawi ako sa 'yo." I tried not to stutter.

"Okay, Luna. You're my friend now." He plastered a playful smirk which made me smile for a second.

Ilang sandali pa ay nakarating na kami sa Fuentablo University. Nauna siyang bumaba pagkatapos ay mabilis na umikot para pagbuksan ako ng pinto.
