Chapter 4

Percy's POV:

"Hey look who's coming over." Leo said as he elbowed me in the ribs. I was sitting in math class and so far I liked this teacher. I glanced over to where Leo's gaze was set. I saw my friend Frank heading over to where we sat, not far behind was Jason who looked as though he'd seen a ghost. He looked up and met my eyes and I flashed him a quick lopsided smile. My signature. His head was down again and he still looked very pale. "Hey guys!" Frank greeted, a huge smile plastered on his face. "Hey Frank what's up man!" I smiled back at him. I could feel a pair of eyes starring at me and looked over to see Jason looking at me. "You must be the new kid!" I blurted out, "Jason right?" I said extending my hand. "Ugh ya, that's me." He said, sticking out his hand towards mine. Our hands connected and I swear I could feel shock go through my body. I looked up and met his eyes but he quickly pulled his gaze away. Then Annabeth spoke up, "nice to meet you Jason, I'm Annabeth." She gave him a quick smile and he nodded in return.  "I'm Piper! And its great to meet you!" My friemd spoke up. "And I," Leo paused, "am the coolest one in this friend group." "Ya right Leo! You ran straight into my locker this morning! If anyone is," *air quotations* "cool, it's Percy" she said laughing at Leo. "Hey! You promised we wouldn't talk about!" Leo sarcastically complained. I rolled my eyes at the two and turned my attention back to Jason. "So how are you liking New York so far?" I decided to try striking up a conversation. "It's great! I really love being in a city. I've moved around a lot with my dads work, but I love the vibe of a big city!" He said his face regaining some colour. "Ya it's pretty fun with all the hustle and bustle." I said. Leo interjected, "So what happened with that trashcan this morning?" He said a small smirk covering his face. Jason blushed and then let out a small laugh, "ya haha, I wasn't really watching where I was going and I didn't see it coming." We all chuckled and then Annabeth asked, "so who do you know here?" "Uhm not very many people to be honest. I know Frank and I also know Reyna, and then my older sister is here as well." I thought for a moment and then remembered the girl with black hair I'd seen him walking with earlier. It was a long shot but I supposed they looked somewhat similar. "The girl with the black hair right? Punk vibes?" "Yup that's her!" He responded. "Pretty far stretch from nerdy blonde haired me." Jason said letting out a small laugh, a blush rising on his cheeks. He's adorable, I thought to myself. And then I was caught staring. "Hey! Earth to Percy. You in their?" Leo said smiling as he waved a hand in front of my face. I could feel the hotness of my cheeks. "You're so red dude." Leo snorted, "I wonder whyyyy?" He said quickly glancing over at Jason. I could basically feel Piper's smirk right now. Annabeth quickly caught on and said, "sooo, Jason, you see any hotties so far at the school? They're some pretty cute girls here if I do say so myself" Annie's eyes quickly glanced over to Piper. Jason's face was a bright crimson colour when he said "uhh actually, I'm gay...." he looked around waiting for us to say something. I couldn't move, I could barely breathe. He was gay! I was over the moon! I tried my best not to squeal.
