• • • RIVER PHOENIX AFTER YOU KEEP PUTTING YOUR GUYS' DATES OFF • • •
"Why do you keep doing this?" River asks.
River had just shown up at your house and was now standing outside your door.
"What do you mean?" You raises an eyebrow.
"This y/n." He huffs and runs his hand through his hair and faces you. "You're always putting off our dates and I don't know why."
"You wanna know why River?" You snap.
"Yes. Please y/n. Please enlighten me."
River would never usually speak to you like this but he was just so angry that he hadn't been able to take you on a date when you guys had been dating for over four months.
"Because, River, my mom is very sick and my dad. . . I don't even know where he is." You sigh and look down at the floor at the last bit then look back up at your boyfriend. "My mom needs a carer that needs to always be there. And- And I'm sorry that I can't go on dates with you but my mom comes first River and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the other way round and your mom was the ill one and you were putting off our dates to look after your mother. And if I could get someone else in the family to look after her for just one day to go on a date with you then I would but there's no one left in the family that lives around here. So I'm sorry." Tears were now falling out of your eyes and River felt so bad.
"Y-Y/n, I-I'm so sorry." River said and you shake your head.
"Don't be. It's not your fault. You didn't know." You shrug.
"Listen, I could get my mom to look after her for the day and I could take you out." He suggests.
"Is your mother okay with that?" You ask and he nods.
"My mom would help anyone."
You smile and pull him in for a hug. "Thank you River. I love you."
"I love you to."
After that day River's mother agreed to look after your mom and you and River spent the entire day together having fun.
