28 - The End

CHARLES

I left Madison in the hospital this morning to accomplish the needed things for Xavier to go to prison. He will be having multiple charges and be in prison for many years. I have to talk to the lawyer to quickly silence him.

I also arranged Helen's funeral. I still needed talk to Madison on what she plans to do with her sister's remains. And for her to tell Artie what happened to his mom.

I bought flowers, I know Madison will love them. She is a brave woman, and I surely is loving her more.

I entered her room and saw her already dressed.

"You can't go yet, you're not that well" I said to her.

She just looked at me while packing her things.

"I'm leaving Charles" she said. What? I thought everything's fine.

"But everything is fine, right?" I asked her.

"I just thought I can't stay with you." She said. I didn't know what to say after that, why is she leaving me?

"What about our son? Alec?" I asked. She didn't move for awhile.

"I'm just your baby maker" she said.

"Madison, please." I said.

"I'm sorry Charles" she said then she grabs her bag then goes out of the hospital room. She didn't look back, she left without even looking at me.

She left a paper on the bed and it is for me.

Charles,

Thank you for the love that you gave. I really enjoyed the times that we spent together. The laughs and the cries that we had will always remain in my memory.

I am leaving, because I've thought about things. I am too young to just lock myself up to you, not even seeing every inch of the world.

It may sound selfish of me to just leave without saying goodbye, because it is harder and seeing you may change my mind.

I am hoping that you'd take care of my sister's child and ours. I'd find a way someday to repay you for your kindness or maybe I'd see you at a different time.

I will never forget you.

I run out of the room and followed her.

"Madison!" I shouted. The nurses tried to stop me from screaming her name.

"Charles, what are you doing?" Madison asked.

"Please, don't go. I love you before, and I love you more now." I said.

She started crying. Everyone in the 3rd floor are looking at us.

I got down on one knee.

"Madison Baker, will you marry me?" he said.

"Charles, stand up please. You're making a scene." She said.

"I'm not going to stand if you're not going to say yes" I said. I am very determined to do this. I don't want her to go anywhere.

She grabs my hand and we walked towards the rooftop.

"Charles, to be honest. Your mother doesn't like me for you." She said.

"But she said she's okay with us" I replied.

"She lied about it" she said. Why would my mother lie to me?

"Then you're just going to leave? And not fight for us?" I said to her.

"Me, leaving will be the best decision." she said. And she's wrong about it.

"Let's get married today" I said to her.

"Your mother just gave me her money" she said.

"Then we will return the money" I replied.

"You are crazy" she said.

"I am crazy for you" I replied.

She didn't speak. She remained silent and I hate it when she says nothing.

"I will call some witness, we are going to the city hall" I said.

"Charles.." she murmured.

"Don't push me away, or leave me" I said to her.

"Let's get Alec first." she said.

We headed at the nursery to get our son.
I called Camilla, Dylan, Luke and Relina to be our witness. I told them not to tell Mom about our wedding.

Finally, we got married in front of the people who care for us. We said our vows and she cried.

We took pictures with our son, our precious little Alec and Helen's treasure, her son Artie.

"You'd be Mrs. Madison Newman" I said to her.

"Me and your mom will be Mrs Newman" she teased.

It was the best day, me marrying the woman I love, the mother of my child.

Xavier is sent to prison, now serving years.

Luke is given a job in Elmyra. He is going great and he started seeing Camilla. They look good together.

Relina continued working for us, she also became Madison's helping hand towards taking care of baby Alec.

My mother can't do anything now that we're married. She just learned to accept the fact that Madison and I are together.

Madison and I adopted Arthur legally. Alec  is doing well. We live in a new house. We live happily leaving the past behind.
