"What?!" Artie frowned.
"Yeah!" Brittany squealed. "I think it's a good idea!"
"BT was probably joking."
Santana shook her head slowly. "She told me first."
"We cannot adopt. We're not married."
"We can get married." Brittany nodded excitedly.
Both brunettes blanched.
The blonde glared. "So we're not getting married ever?"
"Britt,-" He took her hands. "We're just getting started. We've been together for seven months."
"But I love you guys." Her eyes implored.
He looked at Santana.
P.S.
"It's witchcraft, I tells ya!" Artie railed.
"Because they don't want to be kept women?" Marcy wiped her face.
Mike laughed. "Kept women?"
"Kept in the house with no title."
"Girlfriend's a title." Arnold pointed out.
"One no woman wants for the rest of her life."
"No woman?"
"No matter how progressive the woman. She does not want to die as your girlfriend."
The trio of men grimaced but two of them shrugged. They were married. "What are you gonna do, Artie?"
Artie glared. "I'm starting to feel trapped!"
"Then dump them and move on." Marcy waved a hand at Arnold. "Start it up!"
Arnold started his car and the engine flipped. "Thanks, Marcy!"
"No problem." She wiped her hands on the rag she'd wiped her face with.
"Hey!" Artie waved his arms. "Why I gotta dump them?!"
"What part of what I said not in English or Spanish?" She gave him a dirty look. "No girl wants to be your girlfriend for the rest of her life."
"But-!"
"And every man knows whether he wants to marry a girl within what? ten days? If you don't, you know it means you don't. You're just stringing her along so you don't be lonely."
"That's not true..." He pouted but he had a voice in his head saying she was right.
She gave him a BS look.
He stuck his lip out further.
"Marry 'em, don't marry 'em. Just stop playing games. You've got kids. You're not one anymore."
P.S.
Santana and Brittany looked around the fancy restaurant they were in. Artie had just said they needed to get out. They had a sneaking suspicion he was trying to break up with them.
Silence reigned as they decided not to make it easy on him and he was nervously trying to keep his secret.
Dinner progressed slowly and hauntingly awkward.
He wondered if they were now unsure of him and that made him sad. Did he do this?
The check came and he paid for it before they left. The Arieses were confused. Was he not breaking up with them? Were they just out for dinner? Was that what they wanted?
