"Christopher," someone whispered, lightly patting his cheek. "Christopher, wake up. You're shivering."

He blinked his eyes open, meeting Anaeya's worried hazel ones. Her expression softened as he yawned.

"Hace frio," Anaeya muttered, helping him up so that she could drape a quilt around his shoulders. "Why don't you sleep in my room?"

"Are you sure?" Christopher croaked. His voice was hoarse, his throat dry like parched paper.

She didn't reply, instead pulled him up and supported him as they made way to her bedroom. Like every other room in the apartment, hers had also refurnished.

Anaeya had also used the months before wisely by adding a few touches of her own like the japanese screen near her cupboard and a beaded curtains made of sea glass hanging down the bathroom frame.

"Lie here," she said. He crawled onto the bed, feeling exhausted and cold. The girl pulled the blanket over him and paused when his fingers curled around her wrist.

"Can you stay with me?"

She hesitated, her gaze fixed on the bracelet dangling on his wrist. "You still have this." He nodded. "I thought the girl took it from you." He shook his head, smiling weakly.

"Ana, you haven't answer my question. Can you stay with me?" he pleaded, his hand lightly caressing her cheek. "I.. I.. I want to know what happened after I left you. I regret ever leaving you but I want to know."

She sighed and climbed into bed, sitting with her back against the headboard. Christopher smiled, laying his head on her thigh as he hugged the soft pillows. The girl stroked his head gently, combing his hair with her fingers.

"After you left, it took me a few weeks to get over you," Anaeya explained, biting her lips. "It wasn't easy but.."

"You don't love me anymore," he finished.

"Things went well after that," she continued. "It was peaceful. There were at least a dozen of fashion shows and I was in charge of giving some celebrities a tour in Miami. I got a promotion and the directors began to talk."

"And then there was Kidnap!" Christopher guessed.

She hummed in response. In a pained expression, she slowly uttered, "And then there was Mathias."

"Dayana's father?"

"Yes, I was coming home from work when I saw someone in the bushes. The guy ran away before I could get to him. I was under the impression that he was watching Dayana from afar."

Christopher open his eyes and turned to frown at her. "That son o-"

She covered his mouth and shook her head. "Let me finish, Christo," she said, rolling her eyes. "That night, Mathias himself came to my door. He said that he wanted to bring Dayana away with him. Rayna challenged him and we brought the matter to court."
