"Anaeya, change into this and get ready!" her make up artist said, passing her a sparkling blue dress that ended red at the hem before running off to attend someone else.
Anaeya quickly walked into a changing room and pulled the curtains close to change into the dress. She cursed when she couldn't reach the zip at the back.
Suddenly, she heard the curtains opening and someone came in stumbling through it. She gasped in shock but was silenced by Christopher's hand over her mouth.
"Shshh," he said, grinning as he tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm not suppose to be here because I snuck pass the guards." Anaeya widened her eyes. "I was just looking for you."
She pushed his hand off and whispered, "What for? Is Day-"
"Dayana's fine. She is with Zabdiel," he said, cupping her face. His orange glasses slid down the bridge of his nose, making her breath hitch. "I just came to wish you good luck."
Her expression softened and she smiled at his words. She leaned in, cupping the back of his neck where his hair tickled her fingers as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"You look very pretty," Christopher murmured, running his hands up her arms. His breath tickled her ear as she rested her head on his shoulder. He was handsome himself. Christopher was clad in a black suit jacket and matching trousers, making his hair glow. Before she could compliment him, he said, "Anaeya, your dress isn't zipped."
"Oh, can you help me?" she recalled, pulling away so that she could turn around. "I need help."
"Sure, I can help you undo it," he snickered, making a face at her. "It won't be a problem for me."
She scowled at him in the mirror, her cheeks a roseate glow.
Anaeya shivered when his fingers brushed against her skin. He rested his palms on her back, gently stroking her spine and smiled when she tensed.
"I enjoy making you feel this way," he teased, pressing his lips against her bare shoulder blades. "Te adoro. Te amo."
He gently pulled the zip up before running his hands on her shoulders and down her arms. She bit her lip.
Then, he engulfed her in a quick hug from the back before kissing her on the cheek and vanished.
She stared into the mirror, breathing harshly. She yearned for his touch to linger longer but it now felt ghastly to her. It didn't feel like him.
Despite him seeming clear-headed and cheerful compared to the last few days, she felt troubled by his sudden change of attitude.
"That boy is going to kill me."
But for the better or the worse? It was a question that hung midair. Unanswered.
