Chapter 9 (rewritten)

Richard really was feeling more and more frustrated with each minute that they had not yet managed to chose who wants to go in which lion. None even asked him and when opening his mouth he closed it again. There was just no way that they would listen. Not to mention he wanted just to finally go now.

A sigh went out and he puffed his cheeks out. Lance glanced at him and the other seemed to know that it was upsetting him again. At least they listened to Lance but he couldn't get something out with that many people talking.

"Oh come on. Dick wants to say something." Lance pointed out and he felt his cheeks heat up as all of the attention shifted to him now.

"Well, who would you want to have in your lion," Allura asked with a kind tone and softness. It made his cheeks flush even more.

"I uh..." He stumbled over his words, fidgets before continuing to say. "Walls a-and Wolf. Oh, and can't we name him Ko-Kosmo's please?" His voice was timid and he could tell that once again everyone seemed to coo at this. He puffed his cheeks again and his shyness was not helping with how Wally looked at him.

Keith gave a heavy sigh and glanced first at the animal who wagged its tail after he asked this and then his gaze shifted to him. There was a pause but weirdly enough soon the other agreed with a slight pink hue. It was confusing for him but it made him beam.

Kosmo gave a bark and seemed to like the name choice. Then everyone was finished with their choice of where to go. As they entered he could see the giddiness of Wally and he found it adorable.

Wally was grinning from ear to ear brightly and he couldn't help but feel his heart flutter as always when a smile like this was given. His lion greeted him and he greeted back on his mind.

"Hey, you mind me sitting you on my lap?" The question took him by surprise and he wasn't sure. It was just that he wasn't used to affectionate touches. So far he knew most of the times pain and Lotor made him know that he deserved it as he was a bad boy.

The thought alone made him shiver and when coming out of his zoned state he realized that Wally was trying to ask him something. His gaze went towards the other and gave him a questioned look.

"I won't force you when you don't want that." The tone was soft and he felt his heart sink now. It was making him feel like he would leave him. Why he was suddenly feeling this way he couldn't remember but he has done.

"Hey, it's no biggie. I can sit there." The other pointed on a chair. "So don't look like I will leave or something. Never again will I leave you and this is a promise." The tone was soothing and he swallowed as feeling now emotional.

The risk of the other leaving him was there and a promise like this was almost not possible to hold with a war like this. But he appreciated that he tried to make him feel better.

"Thanks, I-I appreciate it but you and I kn-know promises like this can't always be held." He mumbled and the other let out a sigh and gave a soft look.

"I know but still on my free will, I would never leave you. But back to the question, you want me to stay there, or do you want to be put on my lap. Either way is fine with me." The tone was soft and he bit his lips as trying to figure out what he wanted.

And he wanted to cuddle with Wally but he also felt anxious as he just felt the sudden need for human contact. He had been deprived of this way too often and the conflict about Wally hurting him was ridiculous. The male would never hurt him intentionally.

Other than when they trained, but this was something that was just a part of training.

"Okay..." He mumbled as latching himself onto the other. He felt the need to cling to the male as he felt needy for this and the other glanced down and silently picked him up. Then they moved to the cockpit as he was put down on top of the other's lap. He snuggled into the arms with a heated feeling on his cheeks.

"Um just try not to distra-distract me..." He timidly said and the other gave him a smile.

"Of course, and you really adorable with that blush and timid self of yours." The tone was teasing but also endearingly said making him feel his flush get a deeper red.
