Chapter 12 (Rewritten)

"I can't believe it, we're finally back to Earth." The tone of Hunk was pure euphoria and he felt the same but also still had mixed feelings. Something just felt not right. There was just this dread that got worse as they got closer to Earth.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Keith soon added and he smiled slightly. Even with this dread feeling he couldn't help but feel excited. Everyone started to fly towards Earth and Wally glanced at him and it seemed that the male had the same dread as he was feeling right now. A thing that was never a good sign.

"I'll see if I can get a message ahead to my Dad." Pidge stated and he wasn't sure that it was a good idea. There could be the risk that Galra could listen in on this and he could just hope that they would be lucky.

"Dad it's me Pidge. Do you copy? We're back in Earth's solar system and heading home now."

He waited for what would be answered after Pidge had said this but the dread just was not stopping and it was making him feel on edge and his stomach feeling queasy now. Wally held him closer and he could feel the tension coming from the other as well.

Then there was an answer and it was making his eyes grow as he should have known that his gut feelings were so far always right. Seems like the Galra has indeed taken over the Earth. There was uncertainty about his family and friends.

The concern grew and he could just hope that they were all alright. Hoped that they were not captured, injured, or worse killed. For not just his sake but also for Wally as he could tell that the other was as concerned about this news. His breath hitched and he swallowed thickly. The need to curl himself into a ball and hide was there but he knew that he couldn't. Richard was the blue paladin and they needed him.

When glancing back he could see that his boyfriend looked pissed off. Never had he seen the other angered. He shivered and it made the other soften his gaze. But both nodded as the silent message was going through them; they will do anything in their power to get Earth back into their control even when it will take their life, after all, they were heroes and that was what heroes do. Protecting the weak and innocent.

"Oh no..." Allura's voice sounded devastated but by this point, he could not listen. All he could feel was the horror of this news. His thoughts spiraled soon afterward and lucky for him Wally interject.

"Hey, it's going to be alright. We cannot forget that they are heroes and we have to trust them, Dickie." It was said soothingly whispered in his ears and he swallowed but nodded. As he could just hope that they are alright.

"It's not a reply but a distress signal." Hunk stated and it made him swallow. This was something that he feared but they would not get away with this. He- No Voltron would make sure of this.

Everyone was squished together in a Galra fleet that they had taken over and now they were heading to Earth with it. His body was curled into the side of Wally as snuggled into the arms. There was also Romelle who was right next to him who went through his hair. It helped to soothe at least his anxiousness and he hoped that they would find survivors.

He could feel the horror still and fear for all the people he cared for and the innocent too. By now he had at least some parts of his family and his past team. A thing that he was relieved about but still he wasn't sure that he would be able to explain this to them. Nor had he any idea how they would react to this news.

Richard could just hope that they were alright after all they are heroes and they knew how to defend themselves but he knew how ruthless Galra's were. This thought alone made him have shivers all over his body.
