This week has been amazing! I mean I haven't been taken to the torture chamber at all and the nurse had kept her promise for the week and is being very nice to me. She even brought me some biscuits! Plus Grace had been in for a few hours each time she came so this week has been amazing so far! I can't believe I got a week without anything bad happening! To make the week better there is the possibility that I might be getting to go outside for a day tomorrow! All thanks to Grace and her mum. I'm so excited! I could go to the park or to the beach! I can feel the sun fill me with warmth or the rain wash the pain from my body for a day after 14 years! I could feel the excitement bubbling up like a bottle of fizzy juice about to explode.

I couldn't sleep the excitement was too much. Instead of trying to sleep I decided I would watch the shadows of the nurses and doctors doing their rounds for the night.  I must have watched them for hours as the shadows flickered and moved across the floor outside in the hall beyond the door. I fought sleep as my eyelids became heavy and tired. I was so tired my eyes burned as I blinked not wanting to allow time to pass me by. Soon enough I couldn't fight it anymore and I fell asleep dreaming of what tomorrow would hold.

Slowly I opened my eyes feeling tired due to the lack of sleep. As I did I was hit by a sudden realisation. Today's the day! I get to go outside! After the longest 14 years of my life I finally get to go outside!

I sat waiting for Grace and her mum to arrive so we could go outside and begin the best day of my life since being locked up in here.

Seconds felt like hours as I sat waiting in my silent, white as paper room. Suddenly the door handle moved and in walked Grace, her mum, the inspector and a boy I didn't recognise. They were all dressed in their best clothes, Grace wore a black and white polka dot 50's style dress and 5-inch heels, her mother wore a dark blue dress with sliver trimmings creating swirls around the bottom of the dress. They both had their hair up in buns, Grace had the ends of her hair in tight little curls around the bobble and had her fringe pinned back. They both looked beautiful. The inspector was in a dark grey 3-piece suit with a pale blue tie and the boy was in a black 3-piece suit with a light purple, almost lilac tie. They both looked very smart. After saying hello to everyone the inspector and the boy were quickly ushered out of the room again.

An hour and a half later Grace opens the door and lets the 2 men back into the room. The inspector nods his approval while the boy stares at me. They move swiftly to the wall and wait. I look at Grace who nods. Her mother holds a small circular hand held mirror up in front of me and lets me see my hair then she leads me out the door and into the corridor and into the staff toilet where I see this beautiful lady looking back at me. I take it all in. My golden blonde hair, now much longer, cascaded down past my shoulders framing my small frame. The curls delicate and neat. My eyes travel down my reflection to my dress, a turquoise blue 50's / 60's swing rockability style dress with white polka dots, the skirt floating outwards due to the white netting underskirt.

I stood for a minute in awe. I felt like a princess! For the first time in 14 years I felt beautiful and like I was worth something. I smiled at my reflection. For so long I had been so unhappy and alone but now I have a friend. I have Grace and that was enough for me! I didn't need to have loads of people, I had one friend! Let me tell you that having one friend is better than having no-one. After a while staring at my face in the mirror realising just how skinny and shallow it looked! Snapping out of my daze I realised I had been there for a while so had to go. Spinning on my heels I walked back to my prison cell and smiled at them "Thank you!" I said trying not to cry with happiness.

Today was my day and I was going to make the most of it! Nothing could ruin this day for me! Yesterday morning I had no idea I would be getting to go outside this hell hole! It means that world to me that I can go out and feel the sun's rays caressing my face, Grace told me it was sunny outside, and the wind nipping my skin. For the first time in 14 years!! I can't wait! I can't wait!

After a long wait where Grace's mum had to sign me out so I could leave we finally set outside.

I push open the door at the front of building and instantly feel the warm summer air surround me like a safety blanket. As I walked out into the mid-morning sun I feel it warm my face and arms causing me to shiver with delight. I slowly realise that I am free for the full day! I had a day with my friend to do whatever I wanted and it was going to be incredible! The real world is only a few steps away and I am so excited but I knew I had to wait until Grace and everyone to catch up with me. I feel like a ball of exploding energy while I stood waiting. They quickly caught up but stop at the door.

"Are you ready?" Grace asks me smiling. I look down at my shaking hands then back at her.

"Definitely." I smile and walk out into the warm morning. I feel the wind bite at my skin causing me to shiver. There were so many colours! The golden sun  climbing the sky , the bright green leaves bowing to the wind, the tiny purple and blue flowers, I found out they were called Platycodon grandiflorus, and the bright yellow sunflowers. Everywhere I looked I saw colours and flowers, my favourites were the azaleas which were bright pink in the centre and more white at the tips of the petals. I realised then how much I missed the outside world. I could smell the damp earth and the grass which was peppered with the morning dew. I smiled. I had missed this more than I had realised. I spun 360 degrees and took in as much as I could.

The day was amazing! I got to go around the most beautiful garden I had ever seen, then we went to the zoo. I got to see all of the adorable animals, but I couldn't help feel like they felt the same as me as they were stuck in those cages. Trapped. The animals were so majestic to watch! I even got to see some animals I had never even heard of or seen before like an African Hunting dogs and a giant panda. However, my favourite was and always will be the otters. Grace and I took some pictures so I would remember what we did, not that I believed I could ever forget it!

"How would you feel about going to a party later?" Grace asked hopefully while we sat in a cute little restaurant at lunchtime.

"Sounds like fun!" I smile feeling as if I was on cloud nine.

"Okay awesome! This means you will meet Max!" She continues excitedly.

"Max?" I question curiously.

"Oh, and Jack. Max is my twin brother, he's older but only by a few minutes but still, and Jack is my boyfriend." Her smile widened as she finished her sentence.

"Then I can't wait to meet them!" I say truthfully and follow her to her mother's car where everyone was waiting.
