With Davin's help, we managed to get my flyers up on most notice boards in school much faster than if I were to do it alone. He also helped me put a few up in the male toilets and changing rooms while I covered the females. As a token of appreciation, I treated him to lunch.
"Favour repaid." Davin grinned.
"I think we've covered most grounds. The remaining ones I suppose I will just ask if I can put them at the reception in the admin building." I told him.
"Sounds good." Davin nodded.
After lunch, we were headed to the administration building when someone bumped into my shoulder. The impact caused me to drop the flyers that I was holding. That person turned around to apologize quickly and ran off in a hurry.
"Like what..." Davin clicked his tongue in annoyance and rolled his eyes. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm fine." I said as I squat down to reach for the flyers. Davin, too, bent down to help me pick up the scattered papers.
Just as I was picking the next piece, a foot stepped on the flyer, preventing me from taking it. I looked up to find a very familiar countenance. Hero looked down at me, then looked at the flyer he stepped on by accident, and walked away looking unapologetic. With him were four other guys, a couple of them stared at me and chuckled as they passed by. They didn't bother trying to avoid stepping on my flyers.
Surprisingly, there was one guy who was with them, bent down and began picking up my flyers for me.
"Sorry about my friends." He said apologetically as he handed to me the pieces that he picked.
"No worries." I told him. Then he held out his hand and introduced himself as Bryan. I shook his hand and gave him my name as well as Davin's.
"Well, See you around, Emily." He smiled and ran off to catch up with his friends.
"That's Hero's group of basketball friends." Davin told me as he passed me the rest of my flyers. By now, I no longer get surprised when Davin fills me in on people whom I never knew existed till seconds ago. His updates are like those advertising emails that you receive even though you may not have subscribed to but wouldn't unsubscribe just in case you come across some really good deals. Davin's updates are somewhat like that. I don't dislike getting flooded with gossip as there might be good information on who I should go all out of my way to avoid in order to have a peaceful campus life.
"Birds of the same feather really do flock together." I mumbled.
"I thought you and Hero are friends." Davin asked.
"Actually I would think we are 'borderline strangers'. I don't exactly know him that well." I shrugged.

"Hey Ems? Hero is having a party at his place this weekend, do you wanna go?" Nat asked.
"Is everyone going?"
"Yeah. Wasn't sure if you would wanna go after the last time."
"Count me in then! I'll make sure not to just drink anything that remotely resembles water this time." I laughed sheepishly.
"Great!" Nat exclaimed.
Saturday evening came, Nat and I were leaving from our room together to meet up with the rest to head over together. I learned my lesson this time, just as a precaution, I didn't wear my ripped jeans. As expected, Davin also got wind of the party and told me that he will meet me there.
By the time we got there, the place was already crowded and music could be heard from the outside. I sighed mentally for forgetting about the deafening sounds. After we entered the house, we headed straight for the same spot as the last time. Surprisingly, the seats were left empty, as if there was an unspoken rule that this spot belonged to our group.
