➵ | twenty- three, a rat or a man?

AS SIRIUS CLOSED the door, it making a creaking sound causing thana to shiver, draco didn't move. hermione did the same thing but for harry, "if you want to kill harry you'll have to kill us too." thana hid the fact that the girl only cared about harry, even if she had wanted to say something about it the other people in the room didn't give her time for it. Sirius dramatically said something, causing harry to push hermione to the side, running straight towards the wizard. soon enough Sirius was on the ground, one of harrys hands around his throat as the boy held his wand at his forehead. "are you going to kill me harry?" he asked him, surprising thana by the way he seemed amused by this. thana didn't have the time to say or do something again, professor lupin had taken away the spotlight this time.

she sighed, it was a dangerous situation again and no one but draco seemed to even notice she was there. she watched professor lupin pull up Sirius, embracing him. "what the fuck?"she mumbled, pushing draco away to get a better look at what was going on. hermione seemed to be really affected by all this, thana rolled her eyes at the screaming girl. "enough talk remus, let's kill him!" Sirius said, he didn't seem to care a lot about the emotional hermione either. lupin tried to tell him to wait, making the man scream even louder than hermione had done. "i did my waiting! twelve years of it! in azkaban!" the wood creaked again and thana suddenly felt sick. the feeling she had earlier, as if it was the end, grew stronger and stronger with every word that was said. she got snapped out of her thinking when she heard her brothers voice again. "i know why, you betrayed my- our," he grabbed thana's hand, "parents. you're the reason they're dead." thana rested her head on Harry's shoulder, all the fights they had didn't matter anymore. harry seemed to feel the same way and wrapped his arm around his sister, making a tear fall down her cheek. "i love you harry, sorry that i've been a shitty sister." she whispered, not paying attention to whatever lupin was screaming.

snape was the one who made her come back, she had zoned out again and didn't look up until the professor entered the room as dramatically as always. her head shot into draco's direction but by seeing the confused expression on his face thana assumed he didn't know what was going on either. the adults were screaming again and snape had his wand pressed to sirius' neck. Sirius said something about a chemistry set and thana shook her head, bringing it closer to draco's as she whispered in his ear, "i'm team snape." draco nodded, agreeing with her as they payed attention to the others again.

in the meanwhile harry had grabbed hermione's wand and pointed it at the men, surprising everyone by yelling expelliarmus with the wand pointed to snape. hermione and ron were just as confused as thana, "harry what did you just do?" "you attacked a teacher!" harry ignored them and seemed to know what he was doing, "tell me about peter pettigrew."

as they all looked towards ron, the red heared boy looked scared, "me? he's mental! i-" Sirius didn't let him finish and lowered his arm, "not you! your rat!" ron looked like he was about to cry, maybe he was already crying, "scabbers has been in my family for," Sirius interrupted him again, "twelve years? a curiously long life for a common garden rat. he's missing a toe, isn't he?" thana slowly started to understand what was going on and so did harry. "all they could find of pettigrew was his," he started, finger." thana finished. "the dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead! and then he transformed into a rat!" Sirius explained, getting cut off by harry who told him to show him.

thana couldn't help but look at Sirius and ron with a slightly amused look, the man was trying to take the rat, or peter, from him but ron didn't let him go. once Sirius had finally gotten the rat hermione had to hold ron back and thana frowned. she hadn't done or said much but she started to wonder what would happen if the rat really was peter. he was the reason her parents were dead. she didn't have much time to come up with a plan, the rat had started running away but got stopped by him turning back into his human form. peter.

he was stuck in the wall and had to get pulled out of it by Sirius and lupin, causing thana to chuckle softly. peter looked at the men, "remus? is, is this Sirius?" he asked them innocently. "my old friends!" thana held her wand tight, not knowing when she was going to have to use it, when the man tried to run away again she immediately lifted her wand up, pointing it towards the man.

"harry, look at you!" peter said to her brother, thana was following all his moves with her wand, having that one spell ready just in case. "you look so much like your father james," as peter walked closer to harry thana let go of his hand, using it to shove him behind her instead. "av-" "how dare you speak to harry!" Sirius said, stopping thana from saying the spell. "how dare you talk about james in front of him." Sirius and remus started chasing peter, wands pointed at him as they spoke. "you sold james and lily to voldemort, didn't you?!" lupin said, making thana shake her head. this is the end. say bye bye. the voice. am i going to die? she asked it, surprised. she had never been able to talk back to the voice in her head. just wait, just wait a little longer. the voice distracted her from what was going on and she hadn't even noticed harry running over to the door.
