CHAPTER NINE.

dobby.

THE SUMMER WAS boring. thana and harry rarely got out of their room, which upgrated to dudley's old room. "got any letters?" harry asked his sister. she shook her head and watched as harry flipped through the photo album they made. during summer they became closer again but it still didn't feel the same. harry smiled at the picture of him, ron and hermione. he flipped the page and thana smiled as she saw a picture goyle had taken of her, blaise, draco and theo.

they got called downstairs and listened to the speech they got about their owls. thana stared at nothing in particular. "friends? who would want to be friends with you?" dudley scoffed. thana didn't realize they were talking to harry and sneered. "actually, my friends happen to be the children of some of the richest wizarding families."

when her uncle started whining about gratefulness she sighed and turned around. a house elf was jumping on harry's bed. "uh who are you?" thana asked. "dobby the house elf, you are thana potter. your brother harry and you must not go back to hogwards!" harry tried to talk the house elf out of the house, when he realized he had failed, he asked dobby to sit down.

he didn't expect dobby to go full emo mode and slam his head against the wall. which he did. "dobby! sorry, i didn't mean to offend you or anything," harry said tryimg to make the loud sobs stop. "offend dobby? dobby has heard of your greatness sir, but never has he been asked to sit down by a wizard like an equal." he said the last word so soft the two children could barely hear it.

"then you must not know a lot of nice wizards." harry said nicely. "i don't," dobby realized what he said and slammed his head against thana's closet, "that is horrible to say! bad dobby!" harry and thana tried to make him stop, knowing they would be most likely grounded forever if they disturbed the dinner that their family was having downstairs. "are you okay dobby?" harry kneeled down beside him.

"dobby has to punish himself, he almost spoke bad about his family."

"family?" harry asked curiously. "you," dobby turned to thana, "you know them. while cleaning mister draco malfoy's room dobby saw a picture of you and his other friends. can you tell your friend, mister draco to forgive dobby for coming here and ask him to be nice to dobby?" dobby's eyes widened and he started hitting the wall again. "dobby said bad words about family!" thana grabbed the house elf, "i'm not telling him anything you said dobby, your secret is safe with us."

harry smiled at his sister. ever since their first year at hogwards they changed, harry started to notice thana started acting like a true slytherin. but the way she comforted her, in harry's eyes 'evil', friends' house elf he thought that maybe, just maybe she wasn't turning into a complete slytherin.

a few sudden mental breakdowns later dobby, harry and thana were all staring at the cake which was now floating towards the guests. dobby gave the siblings an apologetic look before snapping his fingers, dropping the cake. with another snap of his fingers dobby disappeared.

so there they were, grounded for life, bars in front of the window. that's when they heard it, a car. the potter twins looked out of the window and a blue, flying car was waiting for them. "hey harry," ron said. "hey thana," the red-haired twins greeted. "get in!" they whisper-shouted, making harry and thana grab their stuff and watch as car broke the bars down. harry and thana got in the car and their uncle fell down, trying to stop them from leaving. "by the way, happy birthday." the weasly family said and the potter twins thanked them.

"it's not much, but it's home." ron said, glaring at thana. she remembered all the jokes draco, blaise and theo had made about their family and smiled apologetic at the boys. "where have you been!" molly, their mother, screamed. "harry, thana, lovely seeing you two again," she said as she hugged the siblings, continuing her speech for her own sons.

ginny ran away as soon as she saw harry and ron explained that she had been talking about him all summer. the pottrr twins introduced themselves and just like everyone else, mr weasly started to fangirl about harry. the family and harry kept talking and groaned as their owl smacked against the window.
