➵ | thirty- nine, the last task

"WHATEVER DRACO."

the two had spent the week before the last task arguing, if they were even talking. they only talked when they had to because thana was busy talking to cedric and fred all week. the feeling that something wasn't right grew stronger everyday so she surrounded herself with her favourite people as much as possible. her friendship with cedric and harry had never been better and her relationship with fred was just perfect. and there she stood. her hands were shaking and the feeling she had made her head hurt. after saying goodbye to fred, hermione, ron and theo the girl stood alone. cedric and his father were first, the crowd cheered and thana smiled. cedric looked happy and that made her happy. next up was fleur and the blonde girl was followed by a proud krum. draco and his friends were cheering for him, making thana scoff. harry and dumbledore walked right behind krum and thana got ready to enter too, all alone. "just go with it." snape said from behind her as they walked after the others together. while they waited for dumbledore to finish his speech snape cleared his throat. "good luck thana. don't die." he nodded and disappeared in the crowd. they all got ready to leave and thana quickly hugged the other champions, even krum.

the bushes closed and the only thing thana heard was her own shaky breath but luckily for her it didn't take long before she ran into cedric. "wanna like go together? you can heb the cup. i don't even wanna win this thing." cedric nodded and they both kept running. then the bushes suddenly closed again and they had to run faster to escape it. "what the fuck" thana mumbled as they kept walking. it felt like forever and with every step she took she felt the fear grow.

fred wasn't the only one who was about to have a panick attack caused by the fear of losing thana. draco jumped up when he saw a red spark, his eyes were bigger than usual and even theo couldn't get him to calm down. the blonde boy basically ran over to snape. "was that her? is she dead?" snape sighed and shook his head. "she'll be fine. sit down and wait."he said, clearly annoyed.

in the meanwhile cedric and thana hadn't only found harry but also krum. the boy was clearly not himself and cedric kept tellig harry to get down, who didn't listen the first time, causing him to nearly get hit by krums spells. "expelliarmus!" after the spell hit krum both cedric and thana rushed over to harry. at least thats what thana thought. while she helped harry up cedirc had kicked krums wand away and had his own pointed at him. "cedric he's bewitched!" thana wasn't sure how that happened and was still trying to figure that out when the two boys started running. they seemed to know where they were going so she followed them. the cup. there it was. she wasn't planning on grabbing it but as soon as the two boys staring running the ground tried to grab their feet. thana just followed them and tried not to fall as she followed them. when cedric fell down the first thing she thought of was help him out but that got her stuck too. harry finally noticed them and after hesitating for a minute he broke them both free but instead of going for the cup the two decided to have a little chat. "guys love that you're having a bonding moment but could you please do this after we've gotten out of this fucking thing?" the wind agreed with her and they were forced to run again, "take it!"cedric told harry once they got to the cup. "both selfless sweet boys. how about we all grab it together?" thana suggested and after counting to three they all put their hands on it.

thana expected fireworks, flowers or at least people but instead she got thrown on her back in a place she had never seen before. harry however said he had been there before. thana didn't like what was happening and made sure she stayed close to cedric, who didn't seem to be worried at all. the hufflepuff looked at the cup, "its a portkey!" he said, fascinated by his discovery. "i've been here before, in a dream. cedric, thana we have to get back to the cup. now." thana's head turned when she heard a door. she didn't even notice harry and his forehead pain. "cedric he's right go back to the cup." she said, trying not to sound upset. but she was. she was scared but she couldn't show that. her eyes fell on peter, who was holding something that looked like an old baby. then she realized it, "cedric go now!" she tried to run over to him but she was too late. "who are you! what do you want!" she shook her head and ran faster. "cedric no!"
