— "i-" the door opened and thana didn't get to finish her sentence, not sure what she would've said if she had the chance to finish it. 'i love you too'? 'i'm sorry'? 'i'm a death eater now so i don't think you do love'?

the one who opened the door was the reason she quickly continued talking, "i cant believe that you'd think i would actually do anything to hurt your father." thana shook her head in disappointment, thinking this whole fake fight was somewhat amusing. until fred played along.

"look there's malfoy! your new boyfriend? how did you two meet, family friends? did your father introduce you? or did you meet at the dark mark tattoo shop?"

thana could feel the mark on her arm and she panicked, he didn't know but the comment still freaked her out, she wanted to tell him somewhere quiet and peaceful, not with draco, who seemed to be enjoying their 'break up', watching them and not in this stupid hiding spot.

"we don't have tattoos and he's not my boyfriend. now if you'd excuse me i have places to be and apparently fathers to attack." she sighed in relief as she took a step away from him but he grabbed her wrist and pulled up the sleeve of her left arm.

revealing the dark mark.

"then what is this?" he asked and thana saw how the fake anger had switched into real disappointment. "to my defense i don't have one," draco said as he showed both his arms. "oh yeah draco what do you want?" thana asked as she tried to keep her voice from breaking after seeing the look in fred's eyes, she failed him. "wanted to talk to you but you seem... busy." he smirked before leaving, but not actually leaving of course. he waited outside, making sure they couldn't see or hear him but he could still hear every word they said.

"i'm sorry for being mad at you, i don't want us to end on bad terms." fred awkwardly said as he took a step back, finally letting go off her arm.

"end?"

fred didn't look at her, he kept his eyes focused on the floor while answering, "he probably knows you were lying, why else would he give you that so soon? if you're not loyal to him he could kill you thana. i don't want anything bad to happen to you so yes, end."

thana's breath became shakily as she tried to process what she just heard, "i don't want to lose you thana so please promise me that after i say the words we can still be friends, we can still be in the same room and have as much fun as we have now, just platonic."

thana could see how much saying all this hurt him, he had the same look in his eyes as he had when he would talk about missing his brothers or when he started overthinking about what he would do if he lost george.

she didn't even notice the tear that fell down her own face when she stood closer to him to give him one last kiss before he'd say it and it would be real, she didn't want it to be real.

"we're over."

"jeez thana could you be any slower? i've been waiting for forever just hurry up!" draco, who had slammed the door open once again had to hold back his chuckles, "i assume that means i can finally dat-talk to her?" he asked.

"i should go. goodbye fred, i'll talk to you when i get back okay? i promise." fred nodded and thana let draco drag her out of the little room.

"you're a death eater?" he asked, less nice than fred did. "and he knows you're lying? so this whole thing- the rebuilding our friendship, spending time together and just being around me was all a way to get information over to your fucking boyfriend? do you realize that that mark isn't a joke? weasel was right, if he finds out you're lying he's going to kill you." thana sighed, annoyed. "well i'm not lying anymore now am i? i really broke up with fred so just say what you want to say so i can do what i have to do."
