"—nderson, you need to leave, you aren't injured."

"Please, give me a few more minutes. He has to wake up soon."

They sighed. "Fine. But if he's not awake in five minutes, you have to get to your dorm," they said, as if they hadn't been saying that for the last hour.

"Thank you."

There was a sound of footsteps retreating, and Kurt blinked his eyes open.

"Kurt?" he heard the same voice whisper.

He turned to see Tina's friend Blaine sitting by his bed, looking worried, tears streaming down his cheeks. "What happened?"

"Someone enchanted a Bludger to knock you off your broom. You've been unconscious since the match. Everyone else left, but I couldn't."

Kurt frowned. "Why do you look so upset?"

Blaine sniffled. "Please don't hate me."

He sat up carefully, concerned. "I won't, Blaine."

"It's— your friend said something about it not surprising him that you got knocked out after you got hit by an obscurus, and Sebastian explained what that was—" he sobbed, hanging his head.

"You..."

"I'm so sorry," he choked out. "I didn't know. I never meant to hurt anyone."

Kurt moved forwards, taking him by surprise and hugging him. "It's alright. I'm okay, see? Please don't beat yourself up about it. None of this is your fault."

"I shouldn't be here."

"Yes, you should. You can learn to control your magic, Blaine. I'll help you."

"No." He pulled away. "What if I hurt you again?"

"I'll wear a suit of armor if that's what it takes. Please let me help you. It'd make me happy to help you."

He was quiet. "It'd make you happy?"

"It'd make me so happy."

"I— I guess I can try, then. If you really want to help me... I mean, I could use the help."

Kurt smiled. "Thank you. By the way, who won the match?"

"Oh, nobody. Both your friends abandoned the Snitch as soon as you got hurt."

"No one caught it?"

Blaine remembered what had happened, reaching into his pocket. "Actually, yeah. It floated above me on the bleachers, so I grabbed it." He held it out to Kurt.

Kurt took it, laughing. "So in the Slytherin versus Gryffindor match, Hufflepuff won."

He chuckled. "I should probably return that, shouldn't I?"

"Does anyone know you caught it?"

"No. I completely forgot until you mentioned it."

"Do you want to keep it?"

"Not really."

Kurt looked at him hopefully. "Can I have it? They'll think it just flew off into the Forest and I've always wanted one of these."

"Of course," Blaine said, almost before he'd finished.

Kurt smiled, leaning over and pecking him on the cheek. "Thank you, you're the best."

Blaine set a hand to where he'd kissed, blushing furiously. "Y-you're welcome," he said, not sure if that really happened. Kurt's lips barely brushed his skin, and yet there he was, feeling fireworks.

Kurt was looking happily at the Snitch in his hands, admiring the craftsmanship.
