AFTER ENDURING long days of pain, sorrow, and hopelessness, weeks where her brain felt electrocuted and her focus shattered by the relentless agony, Chloe found herself existing through sheer willpower. They say such trials make you stronger, and she had to agree, but they also made her wiser. Her loving heart remained intact, a source of pride. Her idealism and courage endured, propelling her forward even when the path was unclear.

The harrowing events played in her mind like a recurring horror movie for the past two weeks, the images refusing to loosen their grip on her consciousness.

Now, two weeks later, marked by the loss of her dad, Cody, and the near-loss of her own life, she continued to fight.

They were still in the process of healing—both emotionally and physically. They had reconstructed the wall and repaired the damage caused.

"Sleepyhead, wake up," she heard Daryl say, prompting her to slowly open her eyes.

"Hey," she replied, looking at him as he got out of bed.

"Come on, we're leaving in an hour," he informed her before heading into the bathroom.

She pushed herself up, rubbing her sleepy eyes. It had been so long since she had slept peacefully; it had been weeks of nightmares.

"Still in yer place?" he asked as he emerged out of the bathroom.

"Who's going?" she asked.

"Just Rick and us. Come on, don't make me drag ya outta there," he teased, putting on a shirt.

"Who stabbed you?" she asked, noticing a new stab wound on his back among the scars he always had.

"Back when we were out there," he explained.

"What happened?" she inquired, walking toward him.

"We met a group. They tried to take our things. We fought them. Got this."

"Daryl, are you there?" Rick shouted from downstairs.

"Yes, he is up there with the princess," Merle shouted.

"He would never stop. Will he?" she said, irritated by Merle, causing Daryl to chuckle.

"Get dressed, I'll go see what he wants."

Chloe was soon following Daryl downstairs. Rick and Merle were already gone. "Let me see the list," Chloe said, snatching the paper out of his hand, and scanning it. "That's not medicine, why is it on the list?" She pointed to the last item.
