CHLOE COULDN'T allow Daryl to venture alone, and he didn't want to go without her either. As planned, he woke her up, and they set off towards Hilltop. King Ezekiel had preferred them to stay, as did Morgan, but they had a mission to undertake. Daryl was right; they had to assist their friends. Being familiar with the Sanctuary, they knew their help could make a difference.
The gates of Hilltop swung open, revealing Maggie, Jesus, Sasha, and Enid. They hurried towards Chloe when they spotted her.
"Chloe!" Jesus exclaimed, giving her a warm hug. Then, Chloe turned to Maggie, who wore a compassionate smile.
"Hey," Maggie said as they embraced. "I'm sorry."
Maggie's words stirred emotions within Chloe, but she fought to keep them in check. She didn't want to cry and spoil this precious moment.
"I'm sorry too," Chloe whispered, struggling to keep her voice steady.
After sharing hugs with Enid and Sasha, Chloe noticed the Hilltop residents had their weapons trained on Logan, who stood there awkwardly.
"He's with me," Chloe explained.
"It's okay; lower your weapons," Jesus ordered his people.
A voice Chloe despised approached them. "I see we've got more of your friends here, which I think is a problem," Gregory whined.
"Yeah, they're staying," Jesus asserted.
"Hi, Gregory," Chloe greeted with visible annoyance.
"Hi, darling. As much as I enjoy looking at your face, I'm sorry, but I'll have to ask you to head back to where you came from. You two are on Negan's wanted list, and I'm not plann-"
"They have nowhere else to go, Gregory," Jesus interrupted.
"What about him?" Gregory inquired, pointing at Logan as if noticing him for the first time.
"He was Alli's fiancé, and he's one of us now," Maggie explained.
"And who's Alli?"
"My sister," Chloe snapped.
"Oh, sorry, darling. You can pay your respects to her and your two other friends before you leave. I don't want to see you here after that," Gregory said before walking away.
"Son of a bitch," Daryl muttered.
"Don't mind him, you're staying," Jesus assured them.
"Thank you, man," Logan said gratefully. "Thank you all."
