Season 2: Chapter 2
ReturnKehlani's POV
After we were done cleaning up, Jake told me to follow him to answer the door. The door opened to reveal a woman with a black bob cut and green eyes. Jake seemed to know her as his expression changed once he set eyes on her.
"Hello, Jake dearie! What a pleasant surprise!"
Her voice was soothing but irritating by the way she spoke. She looked to me and raised an eyebrow.
"So this is the girl you're having another child with, she's not very good looking I might say,"
She placed a hand on her chin. I smiled and flicked her off.
"Oh she can't speak hu-"
"I can speak, dumbass."
I turned and walked away, aiming for the stairs.
"And where are you going? This is just wife to friend bonding time!"
I stopped dead in my tracks.
WIFE?!
I turned around and looks at Jake. He looked at me, not saying a word but his eyes were telling me that he was sorry. I scoffed and shook my head.
"I think I'll just go home now." I made my way upstairs and to the room me and Jake slept in.
"Wait! Lan, she's just bluffing!" He ran after me but I didn't let him stop me.
I grabbed my suitcase and packed everything. I took a few duffel bags with the stuff I bought for JJ. I pulled the case with me down stairs and dialed an uber on the street just outside of the forest. Jake stood in front of the door and blocked my way from exiting.
"Move."
He shook his head.
"She's not my wife, she's my ex-wife."
"I don't care, Jake, get the fuck out of my way."
I pushed him but he barely moved.
"You can't! Our baby needs a fath-"
"He doesn't need a father like you! He doesn't need a father at all!"
Jake's arms feel to his side. His face turned red and his eyes were starting to well up. I rolled my eyes and pushed him and he moved without any hesitation.
"You wouldn't make a good father anyways, You can't even be there for the mother when she needs you."
I pulled the bags and suitcase down the stairs. I had to stay strong for me and for JJ.
*timeskip to when she's in the uber on the way to Washington*
The ride has been long. It's been a month and a half. I've used almost five hundred dollars getting rides to go to Washington. I'm almost there. But I don't feel like they'll accept me. Of course they won't. I bring drama and death and just fighting everywhere I go. Jake tried to mark me but I stopped him. He told me he wanted to have me as his one and only cause of JJ but I didn't agree. We fought for some time about that but he eventually gave up. I felt relieved but stressed. I didn't have to deal with Jake anymore but I was worried about Trey. I left him without saying goodbye. I have my phone but I don't think he'll like it if I told him this late in the month. He wanted me to have his baby. I know he was thinking of doing the thing with his bone but... I don't condone that.
"We're a mile away from your destination, ma'am."
"Thanks, Harry."
I left an extra hundred in the money I was to pay him. He's been driving me for almost 5 hours now. The car came to a stop. I looked out the window and there was the familiar forest I remembered from many months ago. Dark dawn... I'm coming back.
