Kehlani's POV

Here we are.

Sitting 3 feet across each other on a table worth more than me.

Staring.

Quiet.

Not a word was said... yet.

"You kept-"

"You fucking lied to me."

I squeezed my eyes shut, dreading that tears do not dare spill.

"Lani, I-"

"You know what happened to me! And you went and u-used me!" My voice trembled as the words fell out.

He grabbed my hand but I pulled it away. He sighed and rubbed his temple with his right hand. I wanted him to explain so badly. My heart was aching to know the truth.

"It was the only way to-"

"To get him back?"

I gave him a hard stare. He looked down and his face was emotionless.

"I trusted you with everything that I had, I missed you so much that I literally had sex with you! And then I hear that you're just using me for my body? And a baby... a fucking baby, Jake! Can you even beli-"

"No!" He yelled, banging the table with his fists.

I flinched and stood up.

"I know... I know what I did, Lan, it... I needed to help him, i wasn't just gonna leave him there to rot, he's my son... my blood... and the only family I got left..."

I shook my head, a single tear fell down my flushed cheeks.

"Who was it?" I closed my eyes tightly.

"What do-"

"Who was it, Jake!"

"It was the alphas wife!"

I gasped.

"You're lying, Aaron doesn't have a wife." My lips trembled when I closed it.

I look to the door and it opens to reveal Trey. I quickly wiped my face and pushed the chair into the table.

"I'm gonna be going now, it- thanks for having me, Trey and J-Jake."

"What? No! You haven't eaten yet, please stay."

I shook my head and smiled weakly.

"I need to be going anyways, I work tomorrow, thank you," I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear and walked to wear the door was.

"Wait."

My wrist was held and I stopped near the door.

"Let go of me, you have no right to-"

I was spun around and lips were felt on mine. I fell limp into their arms. It was like I've never been kissed before. Like it's been forever.

"Live with me, you'll be safe, well fed, we can take care of... him? Her?"

I sighed.

"It's a boy."

His eyes lit up but then faded when he realized his first boy wasn't going so great.

"I'll stay here until he's born, but after that... I'm going back home and I'm taking him with me," I gave him a serious look.

"Wait what? You can't take him back to those monsters!"
